Midnight Train going......anywhere but here.

Inspired by @slobberchops 's posts on his urbex exploration I thought I'd share a little story from a few months ago.

This is a shot from a documentary I did a few months back whereby me and a friend took a camera out and went about documenting a local graffiti artist. Now some people may be diametrically opposed to graffiti and if you are please let me know your thoughts below but for the project we thought it may actually make an interesting watch to get a persons background, why they do what they do and just the technical aspects of it all - which you may be suprised theres actually quite a lot to the art.

The Shoot

The shoot went extremely well with no camera faults which is always a main problem but some events did unfold later which I will go into later. It was incredibly interesting to learn this persons stories about his childhood and how it was as prevelent in his home country as to riding a bike was to here and that it was a natural part of his youth. I always test a bit when filming but I am never pushy, I just would rather the subject really talk about what they wanted to talk about rather than shoving questions down their throats - I'm candid all the way.

Especially considering the guy in question was wearing a costume mask too anonymity like that really does allow you to just open up which is brilliant.

The Dilemma

The dilemma came when the crossing hatch started to come down as I was crossing, now on this particular train track it came down preeettyy quickly resulting in me becoming trapped on the inside and felt like Tom Cruise spreading thin against the manifold bit until it passed on.

For those who thought documentary filming in England was all boring sometimes you do end up literally hugging a hedge for dear life (without alcohol) and wishing you wore another jumper. 😂
