Ankarath Home (Palace)

I had a chance visit this majestic palatial home in Palakkad, Kerala. With a unique colonial architecture, its a feast to the eyes.

The main building which is still occupied:

Some of the well kept rooms in the adjacent inhabited, huge structure:
oh, btw this is a toilet + perhaps a dressing area.

Roof with little bats all over ...

The entrance that is nothing but a fort door ...

Some of the interior:

These huge pipes come out from every room. They are from the toilets attached to each of the rooms.

I found a tripod page with some details which I have now archived and linked:

Dear @bobinson.

I would not like to have to spend a night in this house. Surely many presences must be felt in it.

We can intuit that it was a total beauty years ago, but still, almost ruins, it shows an impressive architecture.

Thanks for sharing.

Yours, Piotr.

Yea .. its in a sad state. Also I figured out that it was a palace and not exactly a home.

Good to hear from you @crypto.piotr
