This is my entry for the @tattoodjay's Wednesday walk challenge.
Last time I finished my story on how I went ashore, reached the water on the ice and began photographing landscapes with the sun gradually sinking to the horizon.
Now my goal was to wait until sunset. I wandered on the ice, sometimes going back to the shore. In some places the ice held me well. And in some places, my legs began to fall into the crumbling ice.
All this time, the ice was smoothly swaying on the water and tapping softly. If not for the cold wind blowing from the sea, I would gladly put a deck chair on the ice here and enjoy the rustle of ice and the sun sinking towards the horizon.
It was pretty cold, but I stood firm. I took a few shots and then sent my hands to warm in my pockets. And then there was the turn of the next few frames.
I looked for interesting angles, watched the sun hide behind the clouds, then open up completely.
Other people walked along the shore. Some of them even approached the water itself on the ice.
And I was waiting for the sunset. But I'll tell you about the sunset next time.
I strongly recommend to open the photo in a separate tab to appreciate it.
