After I showed you the first part of my experiment last Sunday
Light painting in daylight without a lamp, the second part follows today. My idea was to create a light painting in daylight without a flashlight. Now you could say that if you don't have problems, you make them. But what would life be without challenges?
Nachdem ich euch am letzten Sonntag den ersten Teil meines Experimentes
Lightpainting bei Tageslicht ohne Lampe vorgestellt habe, folgt heute der zweite Teil. Meine Idee war, ein Lightpainting bei Tageslicht ohne Taschenlampe zu erstellen. Nun könnte man sagen, wer keine Probleme hat, macht sich welche. Aber was wäre das Leben ohne Herausforderungen?

Making Off
In the cover picture you can see a light painting in daylight, which was created by a single exposure with the help of a mirror. Nothing was added or removed with Photoshop. For this shot, I set up a mirror on a tripod so that the sunlight is projected onto the lens. Then I triggered the camera and immediately started rotating the camera around the optical axis. After that I covered the lens with my hat: That's why light painters always wear a hat😉. Then I removed the tripod with mirror from the scene and took the cap off the lens and started putting a few dots in the scene with a pocket mirror.
Im Titelbild seht ihr ein Lightpainting bei Tageslicht, welches durch eine einzige Belichtung mit Hilfe eines Spiegels erzeugt wurde. Es wurde nichts mit Photoshop hinzugefügt oder entfernt. Für diese Aufnahme richtete ich ein Spiegel auf einen Stativ so aus, dass das Sonnenlicht auf die Linse projiziert wird. Dann löste ich die Kamera aus und begann sofort mit der Kamerarotation um die optische Achse. Danach deckte ich das Objektiv mit meiner Mütze ab: Deswegen tragen Lightpainter immer eine Mütze😉. Dann entfernte ich das Stativ mit Spiegel aus der Szene und nahm die Mütze vom Objektiv und begann mit einem Taschenspiegel ein paar Punkte in die Szene zu setzen.

The Challenge
The Sunday before I had already tried to draw lines with the mirror. As you can see in the picture above, it's not that easy. I have to move the mirror and keep the reflection on the lens. With the hand that was a hopeless endeavor. So another technique was needed. In the image below, I placed the mirror on a tripod and rotated the camera around the optical axis. This worked quite well with the CRT (camera rotation tool).
An dem Sonntag zuvor hatte ich bereits versucht, mit dem Spiegel Linien zu malen. Wie man im Bild oben sieht, ist das nicht ganz so einfach. Dabei muss ich den Spiegel bewegen und die Reflexion auf dem Objektiv halten. Mit der Hand war das ein aussichtsloses Unterfangen. Also musste eine andere Technik her. Im Bild unten habe ich den Spiegel auf ein Stativ gestellt und die Kamera um die optische Achse rotiert. Das klappte mit dem CRT (Kamera-Rotations-Tool) ganz gut.

To enable long exposure times in daylight, I put filters in front of the lens. Depending on the desired exposure time, the ND1000, ND8 and the ND4 filter were used. This allowed me to expose long enough to move through the frame without being picked up by the camera myself.
Um bei Tageslicht lange Belichtungszeiten zu ermöglichen, setzte ich Filter vor das Objektiv. Je nach gewünschter Belichtungszeit kamen der ND1000, ND8 und der ND4 -Filter zum Einsatz. Damit konnte ich lang genug belichten, um mich durch das Bild zu bewegen, ohne dass ich selbst von der Kamera aufgenommen wurde.

The Set
In the following picture you can see me adjusting the mirror. I had previously mounted it on a tripod with a ball head using a clamp. This time I used a mirror tile. It reflects a larger area than a pocket mirror.
Im folgenden Bild seht ihr mich bei der Justage des Spiegels. Diesen hatte ich zuvor mit Hilfe einer Klemme auf einem Stativ mit Kugelkopf montiert. Diesmal verwendete ich eine Spiegelfliese. Die reflektiert eine größere Fläche als ein Taschenspiegel.
After this light painting has been successful,
I would like to try out other techniques with the mirror. I will try these on my upcoming South America tour.
