The Cylons Light Painting

Hallo HIVEs!

On my travels through South America, I discovered parts of a Cylon in an abandoned place in Uruguay. A Cylon's head just lay in the landscape. I couldn't find any other parts. I have documented the situation on site in the following pictures.

After I approached the head and released the camera for the first time, the Cylons eye suddenly opened. Scare 😱, he's still alive!

Then the Cylon scanned me, but did nothing. The head just lay there motionless and we looked at each other.

Ok, so there's a Cylon's head and I set up the camera. Then I thought to myself, I can also use this for a light painting. So I started playing with the camera. First a camera rotation around the optical axis by 180°. The Cylon appeared to be asleep.

Oops! There it was again, that look! The Cylon seemed to be enjoying the photoshoot. So I continued.
Hoppla! Da war er wieder, dieser Blick! Der Zylon schien das Fotoshooting zu genießen. Also machte ich weiter.

Then he let his eye wander back and forth. Apparently, the Cylon was slowly liking the situation.

Then I took advantage of the moment and let the camera rotate in 90° steps.

Gradually the Cylon head sank into the rocks until it finally disappeared. Pity!
Schade!

Making of

As can be seen in the following picture, a radiator cover from an old car was hidden between some stones on the approx. 10ha property in El Eden (Uruguay). I already reported about El Eden in my post last week. The camera was mounted on a rotation tool. To illuminate the hood from the outside, I used an EMISAR DM11. I illuminated the hood from the inside with an EMISAR D18 with a color filter.

I hope you enjoyed the post. Next Sunday there will be the next blog about light painting. Stay tuned!
Bleibt dran!

Toller Beitrag Ralf! 😂

Danke Stefan! 😎

Sehr schöner Fund und sehr geile Ergebnisse.

Danke Sven! 😊 Ick freu mir schon auf nächsten Sonnabend.

Ich mich auch. 🙂

Cool post, always interesting to see the subtle differences in lighting. I reckon only a lightpainter would see a photo in such an object ;-)

Thanks buddy! 😊 That's right, we light painters create different unique items from things that are perhaps not noticed in everyday life.

Haha, yes, I find myself noticing holes in walls and thinking how I could lens and tripod swap someone in to it!! It's not wierd at all haha

These are some awesome shots!

Thank you! I'm always happy when you like it. 😊

Art!!!!... Bravo!... Thanks for sharing!
