Shot on Kodak 160 NC using a Tachihara 8x10 camera and a Fujinon 300 mm lens. Scanned from c-print (beta).

I spent 3 days photographing the island from this perspective;
plus 2 years to find the optimum way to print it. Now slowly it is nearing completion.
Final print size will be 60 x 80 cm.

Hi There, I am Captain Klaus, a travelling photographer with a
professional background. I mostly shoot on large format colour film.

I do everything from developement to printing in my lab.
Check out @photolabo to have a look.

If you've seen this picture before, it must have been on the old chain...

Sort:

The sea is very calm and the whole place looks so alive!

2 years to find the optimum way to print it.

hmm? what was the difficulty about that?
did you mean, trying different color correction variants so the photo look better, or what?

Different colours and contrasts, but a lot of masking, dodging and burning in the darkroom.

o! you implemented the step-by-step print - look - print+correct during printing - examine again - schema?

Exactly. With examination periods of a few months...

That's an epic shot mate. Keen to sail around Greece one day soon.

Thanks!
For this, you'd have to go high into the greek mountains; in winter there is actually a skiing resort just around the corner...
