Alive within transition
_____________________

Alive am I within the noble change
of day on day compounded — ray on ray
of radiation's sweep to rearrange
an elemental landscape as it lays
asleep-half with one upward-slanting eye —
a world that yearns to rise upon the morn
of sweet-exhalèd far-traversing sigh
of heaven — wistful-half, and half-forlorn,
desiring half to sleep and ne'er return,
while otherwise aspiring to ascend:
to conquer every slight and every spurn,
allow the fitful process slow to mend
each flaw of heavy world — each fracture, crease
to knit themselves together, and to cease
illusion of a separated skin —
in which foul-revel shady shapes of men
that contemplate the bounty of the beast.

The monstrous form with thirst insatiable,
with craving irresistible to feast
upon the dense and dark — and never full
is wan'dring appetite of ev'ry kind
who gravitates unto each proper mind
which shares in its selfsame debauchery.

The circled trap, the spiral of the flesh
that reinvents each impropriety
anew with keen awareness, to enmesh
the surface ills with deeper-essenced core.

Yet when I think that I can take no more,
nor stand the strange reversal of harsh fate:
for me, transition seems to have in store
the necessary — each unto its mate
to cancel and to match — and yea, redeem
dim circumstance with redefining beam.

Alive within transition — I am still,
though moved immense in secret stream within:
and I will float upon its waves, until
what storms that must be weathered will have been.

The repetition of the /I:/ vowel sound in the second to the last and last verse is beautifully, it had this rhythmic effect and it was entirely colorful.
I love the consistency of the images created. It brought a sort of celestial seasonings to the piece in general.
It was beautiful written
