Last night we had some pretty cool clouds in the sky and I was hoping to get some cool landscape shots using my 17mm. Well, things did not go as planned and the images didn't turn out how I had envisioned them.

My 17mm lens is amazing for taking pictures of buildings, but when it comes to normal landscapes, I am not a big fan of how things look with it. I guess if I was taking pictures of the mountains and I was a lot closer, it would look cool, but when you are taking pictures in a park and you want to get the whole scene, 17mm is just way too wide because it makes everything look so small.

I am still trying to get the hang of this lens and seeing if I can use it for stuff that isn't architecture, but I am having a hard time finding any other uses for it. The manual focus makes it pretty hard to do any street photography while walking. This lens is at its best when you are up close to the subject and have a tripod. It isn't the greatest for portraits either because it can severely distort faces and make people's heads appear very round. It's not the most flattering look. I am going to continue walking around different places and try and figure this lens out because it is a very interesting lens with a lot of potential.

Great photos, man. I've been trying to take landscape photos since I last talked to you. I think I'm getting better and better. I'm thinking of writing a post about it soon.

These are really beautiful flowers

Thanks homie

You are like a kid having a new toy so you're playing around with it. Except you're not a kid and the lens is not a toy either. 😂

I'm pretty sure you can find uses of the lens aside from architecture. Yeah just continue searching for it. Good luck!

And yeah nice captures!

It's always fun getting a new piece of photography equipment.

Your doing great and discovering what works and doesn’t.
Love the flower and the sky… even though everything looks small in the landscape ones. It still looks awesome 😎
