Thank you for the encouragement; I need to wait for better light to take the 70mm macro lens out shadows it's difficult to get the right shot in direct sunshine and it looks like we have a lot of that at the moment :)

Do you use a camera or a cell phone? I'm pretty comfortable with my LG phone, but with a camera, the results will be much better

I use a Sony A6600 APS-C camera, which is on the upper end of Sony's "inexpensive" cameras, with a Sigma 70mm Macro Lens to get shots like this:
