First Live Concert after Quarantine

in Photography Lovers4 years ago (edited)

A selection of the best pictures I took at the first live concert I went after quarantine, July 24th. Leonardo Angelucci's band at ConFusioneFest in Rome. Opening act by Gabriel Luz from Rio de Janeiro!

As I am still going through hard times, because of many bad happenings in the last few weeks, it took me a little to look back at the pictures and clips I took during the amazing concert on the 24th of July. It was a very special night for everyone at the gig: my friends Leonardo and his band were missed a lot for live performances, because of the quarantine forced break. Also, it was nice to see again some friends in common with the band: that night was for me a sort of reunion rather than just a concert. Plus, the unavoidable sense of excitement for the very live music concert, of course! Leonardo, in first place, got extremely emotional, and he even stated that he would have forgotten some lyrics because of the excitement. Either cause of his own admission and following proof, or because he was really so excited, he indeed forgot and got wrong some lyrics of his own songs. It's so funny when the audience got the lyrics right, but the singer-author doesn't! It must be such a satisfaction for the artist, I guess!

Besides the location (a large park in the remotest corner of Rome), the organization and promoters of the event deserve a big round of applause since they were brave enough to set up, from zero, an entire music festival, as the name itself says, "ConFusioneFest", right after the quarantine, giving all musicians a second chance, and all the music lovers a hope to hold on to. Two Roman live music venues, L'Asino Che Vola and Let It Beer got together and made up a Covid-19-proof music festival:
  • Venue: giant park.
  • Audience: seated on benches or chairs at bar tables.
  • Tickets: free but mandatory seat reservation.
  • Food, beer, and free music. What else?

The atmosphere was indeed very pleasant, and I have to say, I didn't expect so many people coming. They must have been around one hundred which is a very good number given the fact that the band is not famous, but very underground, and the festival was just launched (and not to mention people's fear of crowded places!). At the end of the day, it was an extremely important move both for the music scene in Rome that needs to be this brave (if not more!), but also for bands' and musicians' own sake, especially those who are not famous or popular enough yet to make a full living out of their art.

The concert was opened by talented Brazilian Bossanova musician Gabriel Luz who performed in solo guitar and vocals to introduce his new release, Natureza Human. Gabriel's got a unique sense of rhythm (or may be I am just ignorant and not used to this kind of music at all) and really was able to build up a magic air. He was introduced by Leonardo who, in turn, was invited by Gabriel to play together his last song before Leonardo's band started.

Now I'll stop writing and let my shots speak for themselves!
Hope you enjoy as much as I loved the gig.
