Hike in Narodni National Park, Czech Republic - Part 2

This is the second part of my hike in Narodni National Park in Czechia. If you haent then you can see the first part here.

After visiting our firs checkpoint we set our steps forward, into the forest to reach our next destination. Found some cool locations on our way like this one.

...and this one. It looks to be some sort of a natural cave. Im not sure how it has formed but I am pretty sure it has something to do with glaciers during the last ice age.

It wasn't long until we arrived at our next checkpoint which was a cliff named Wilhelmine's View. Like in the first location in the last post, some great views over the national park and surrounding areas appeared.
Me posing in the photo.

This is the first checkpoint seen from this one.

From there it was also visible the uncontrolled forest fire. The area was all evacuated there and off-limits to visit. You can see a helicopter pouring water on the fire, pretty cool that I was able to catch it in the photo.

The small village below.

It was time to start moving to our last checkpoint on this hike through the drying forest.

Look at these cliffs. I wondered for a while why these look like that. In the end I figured that it is erosion. Water coming down from the cliffs, carving these crevasses. These carvings are probably really old already.

Climbing to the last checkpoint named Rudolfův kámen was pretty extreme actually. Climbing ladders, cliff faces and narrow passages. Up there, again, some beautiful areal views appeared.

On the top, there also was a small hut that is for park rangers to be in I guess.

Some more views.

The daylight was running short and we had to start going back to not be left with total darkness.

It was definitely a memorable hike and I am really glad that the others agreed to take this one so we could get out of the bustling city of Prague and go see the wild nature of the Czech Republic. If you visit Czechia and want to go into nature or hike then take my advice and visit this area. Also, Bohemian Switzerland should be really beautiful but we had to miss it due to forest fires.

Beautiful shots!

Thanks man!

The pleasure is mine! Cheers!

The place is called Czech Switzerland National Park. Or, more precisely, the jetřicovické stěny (Jetrichovice Walls). The hut at the top is not on Rudoflův kámen (Rudolph's stone), but on Ostroh and served as a lodging for hunters in the 18th century. In the meantime, she burned out several times. Just yesterday I wrote an article from this area the day before the fire started.

Thanks for clearing up the names. This is just the info google maps gave me, it was hard to read the landscape and exact locations there too.

Google maps are absolute garbage in the wilderness. I personally use mapy.cz. Sometimes the height map doesn't fit, but otherwise I had no problem anywhere in Europe and I also saved a few tourists in Tenerife.

It's an amazing place, so nice to be able to climb up to those mountains. Your photography is very cool.

Thanks! Yes, I have always loved hiking in the mountainous regions.

You're welcome. Hope your days are fun
