Yellow River Cruise, Kakadu National park - Australia - Part 1 Crocs and Scenery

Kakadu is made up of both rocky 'escapement' country and the floodplains, which feed into a range of rivers and creeks and eventually to the East or West Alligator river (even though there are no Alligators here - here we have Crocodiles).

As part of my recent trip to Kakadu we went on a cruise on "Yellow Water' which is a year round billabong, which at the time we were there, just after the rainy season wasn't really a billabong at all as it was joined to the East Alligator river itself.

So what did we see on our cruise...

Let's start with the view, to say this place is stunning is a understatement, and to see it from the water was everything.

Of course everyone wanted to see a Croc up close and personal, this on was just hanging out on the banks. Those teeth could do some damage

Tail was pretty cool too

The Buffalo are strangely an attraction as well, these are wild, but not native, they were introduced a few hundred years ago, and I have to say, frankly a pest, even if people do think it's cool to see them (I little like wild horses as well, they shouldn't be here)

The boat we were in was a fair bit bigger than this thing, not sure I would trust that in Croc infested waters.

And there is one just creeping about now

And another.

I'll leave the dinner for part 2 - Birds of Yellow River
