Becoming a Householdhead - Who is Jayson Guevarra

My name is Jayson Guevarra.

Whenever I introduce myself, I always try to begin with: "I am a Roman Catholic follower of Christ, the husband of April, the Daddy of Noe and Mati, a Filipino, an online marketing specialist." I believe this self-description tries to tell so many things about me, and also keeps the listener intrigued in at least one of the aspects represented.

The picture below is me hugging a mascot of a Philippine icon, Jollibee; which may say something about how I try to be jolly, how I love food, and how I recognize everything that has been part of my childhood and history.

Thankful of Today

As of the time being, I strongly believe it will be quite impossible to paint a bigger picture that is me, if I try to isolate only the individual. The collage below highlights my wife who is an integral part of my own story, as I am of hers.

Today, April and I attend to a shared leadership as we serve an active community of enlightened Christians. I may have done something good enough to deserve a blessing such as my wife!
jg-03.PNG

Our firstborn son Noe is one of the fruits of our love. I know, I know, this boy got his handsome looks from his mother!
jg-05.PNG

And exactly 6 years and 2 weeks after our Noe was born, we received another blessing in the person of Mati.
jg-04.PNG

Noe prayed for a baby sister. Yes, he prayed for another baby, and a sister as he intend to avoid any rivalry or competition with another boy. And his prayer has been answered. Of course, there are still conflicts and ups and downs, but we are glad that it is clear that they love one another.
jg-06.PNG

I am part of a family who loves to celebrate anything with food!
jg-07.PNG

My childhood have been mostly spent in an era challenged by migrant workers and true-to-life drama of broken marriages. I am glad I have been raised by strong women; my grandmother, my godmother (my mom's sister), my aunt (my mom's sister-in-law), and of course, my mom.
jg-08.PNG

Because of different circumstances and choices, my immediate family resides nearby my mom's place. And yes, the food is noticeable again.
jg-09.PNG

I build teams and friendships along the way, and what better to spend time than to eat and drink?
jg-10.PNG

The pandemic pushed so many of us to do things mostly online. And I strongly believe and also thankful of belonging with a resilient team, allowing me to enjoy a dependable career.
jg-11.PNG

Still, the situation allows me and my wife to attend to activities which promotes strengthening family, the basic unit of society.
jg-12.PNG

And at times to have our dates on our own, even when just buying groceries.
jg-13.PNG

Thankful of Yesterday

When you are younger, you must enjoy learning things and learning with a family. And even extended family, for that matter.
jg-14.PNG

But there are things you learn only when you make decisions by yourself. And if you choose to be responsible and maybe work hard and smart, you will also meet people who are responsible and work hard and smart as you (or maybe even better at these).
jg-15.PNG

High school and elementary years served as the building blocks of how one will take on the larger real life.
jg-16.PNG

For me the beauty of attending college is, here is where one learns the importance of discipline in daily undertaking. And sometimes it will come with "Duty well-performed, Honor untarnished, and Country above self".
jg-17.PNG

And eventually you will find your own value upgraded when you begin to see that it is not about yourself. Even leadership and governance is not about one's self.
jg-18.PNG

When you commit to a cause to serve, you will also be attracted to organizations with similar values. I am glad to have another extend family.
jg-19.PNG

Thankful of Tomorrow

If ever I am able to serve in a plethora of ways, and see so wide, is because I have the blessed opportunity to stand on the shoulders of giants in self sacrificing service.
jg-20.PNG

Some of the activities (of the enlightened community we belong to), my wife and I have been working so hard to create online versions. This is to help everyone, including our family, to keep the faith alive.
jg-21.PNG

Slowly and surely, some of our "students" are taking up the call.
jg-22.PNG

I believe trying to live my faith this way, trying to learn new things, trying to help others take advantage of the available technology - these all boil down into how I arrive at trying cryptocurrency. I have done a bit of research. I have followed some people in marketing forums. I have checked the references. And I needed to act fast to experience things myself.

As I explore Hive, at this point I see it as helpful to action takers. And so, I have already started to share some things I learned about cryptocurrency in general. As learning will only be completed with application, with action.

Our faith in action has even helped the evacuees victimized by the wrath of Taal Volcano.
jg-23.PNG

We have received updates from different areas we helped (through formation and talks), that the families are actively sharing and showing their faith, too. Of course there are various struggles, but little by little does the trick.
jg-24.PNG

Hopefully, I become an agent of pushing forward to a future scenario where the beauty of each one's faith translates into inspiration in different ways, that more people may relate to, and join this kind of revolution themselves.
jg-25.PNG

I believe these good things will happen in God's time through God's love.
