THE RITUAL

_MG_65361.jpg
First visit to this place for astro, Solomons Temple near Buxton in the Peak District, U.K. Always thought there would be way too much light pollution here but luckily it was all behind us and just looking into the open countryside. This is a three shot blend all from the same position, a two minute exposure for the foreground with a led panel lighting up the inside of the temple, then a two minute tracked exposure of the sky using my Skywatcher star adventurer, then another two minutes while wafting the Alyn Wallace star glow filter by Kase infront of the lens to make the stars pop. Then all aligned and processed in Photoshop, basically layered them up then erased the background to reveal the tracked stars. Shot with my trusty astro modified Canon 6d mk1 and Canon 16-35f4 mkii lens all at f4 iso 800

Great photography, seems a bit like a surrealist painting.
