Walking through my mother's garden and coming across a huge butterfly perched peacefully on the branches of a small pine tree is really "lucky".... And if it is an individual of the "King Swallowtail" species it is absolutely wonderful, as this is perhaps one of the most nervous and complicated butterflies to photograph among those that fly here.
Ir caminado por el jardín de mi madre y toparme con una enorme mariposa posada plácidamente en las ramas de un pequeño pino, es realmente "tener suerte"... Y si se trata de un individuo de la especie "Rey cola de golondrina" es algo absolutamente maravilloso, pues esta es quizás una de las mariposas más nerviosas y complicadas para fotografiar entre las que vuelan aquí.

But the most "abnormal" part of the whole situation was: When I found the butterfly, I didn't have my camera with me.... So I had to go back to my house, take my camera, change the lens and go back to my mother's house... I always had the feeling that the butterfly would have left there, the moment I returned.
Pero lo más "anormal" de toda la situación fue que: Al encontrarme la mariposa, yo no llevaba mi cámara conmigo... Así que tuve que devolverme hasta mi casa, tomar mi cámara, cambiarle el objetivo y volver a la casa de mi madre... Siempre tuve la sensación de que la mariposa se habría marchado de allí, al momento de mi regreso.
But fortunately, when I returned to my mother's house, the butterfly was still there, perched on the branches of the small pine tree... So I went for the photos without thinking about it!... And that's how I was able to take some photos of this beautiful individual without any problems... Although after a few minutes, it seemed to get annoyed and flew away untimely, losing itself in the horizon without any return.
Pero afortunadamente, al volver a la casa de mi madre, la mariposa seguía allí posada en las ramas del pequeño pino... ¡A por las fotos sin pensarlo entonces!... Y fue así como pude hacer algunas fotos de este hermoso individuo sin problemas... Aunque después de unos pocos minutos, pareció fastidiarse y alzó vuelo intempestivamente, perdiéndose en el horizonte sin retorno.
For these photos I used my Nikon D7000 camera with my Tokina ATX-PRO 100mm f/2.8 d MACRO lens... All of them were captured in RAW format and processed with Adobe Camera Raw and then adjusted the JPGs with Photoshop... Actually there was not much to adjust in the photos, as the light conditions of the environment were quite good (sky with full white clouds, generating a nice and even white light).
Para estas fotos usé mi cámara Nikon D7000 con mi objetivo Tokina ATX-PRO 100mm f/2.8 d MACRO... Todas fueron capturadas en formato RAW y procesadas con Adobe Camera Raw y posterior ajuste de los JPG con Photoshop... En realidad ni hubo demasiado que ajustar en las fotos, pues las condiciones de luminosidad del entorno eran bastantes buenas (cielo con nubes completas y blancas, generando una luz blanca agradable y pareja).
I was able to make several close-ups and even a couple of macros of the wings and head of this beautiful butterfly before its untimely flight... Thank you very much for stopping by and appreciating these images, I'll see you again soon with more pictures in between.

Qué fascinantes estas tomas. Pareciera que la mariposa estaba a gusto de regalarnos su maravillosa forma, por un momento fue toda una excelente modelo. En lo personal, me gusta la fotografía de insectos. De hecho, de manera muy, pero muy aficionada, cuando veo uno, saco mi celular y trato de capturar una fotografía medio decente.

Gracias estimado amigo por pasar por aquí y apreciar... Sí vale, esta mariposa fue para mi una excepción y procuré aprovecharla, pues se trata de una especie francamente muy nerviosa y creo que es la primera vez que tengo una tan tranquila para hacerle fotos... A propósito de hacerle fotos a los insectos con el móvil, hace días vi un post aquí en #Hive de alguien que usaba lentes de lectores de CD obsoletos e inclusive de cámaras CCTV dañadas para colocarlos sobre el pequeño objetivo de las cámaras de los móviles... Me pareció impresionante el resultado que logró con algo tan simple... De hecho, ahora que tu comentario me lo ha traído a la memoria, voy a ponerme a buscar algún tipo de lente para reciclar y probar... :))...
