Si algo me gusta de esta ciudad son sus atardeceres, son algo enigmáticos, enérgicos, conmemorativos y emotivos en muchos sentidos. Suelo caminar con frecuencia y me gusta verles, aunque no siempre tomo alguna foto pues creo algunos deben quedar en mi memoria y se pudiera leer egoísta pero prefiero guardarme algunos sólo para mí. Otras tantas sí suelo tomar alguna fotografía que suelo compartir en mi cuenta de Instagram @Juandeando, pero les prometí que les mostraría los hermosos atardeceres que nos regala Manizales.
El Nobel poeta chileno Pablo Neruda alguna vez visitó Manizales y la denominó “La fábrica de atardeceres”, me pregunto si algún atardecer inspiró al chileno universal en uno que otro poema. Aunque no sé si ocurrió, lo que sí sé es que no se equivocó en llamarle así. Pablo sentía un especial amor por Colombia, en donde tuvo buenos amigos; entre ellos Gabriel García Márquez y Eduardo Carranza; así que siempre hablaba de ella con mucho afecto.
Manizales pareciera ser una fábrica insaciable de inolvidables atardeceres, unos más hermosos a otros y creo que cada uno se conecta con el corazón de quienes los ven. Además, estoy seguro que ha provocado efusivas y ardientes cartas de amor.
También existe una explicación científica pues la posición geográfica de Manizales permite que estos fenómenos se diferencien de otras partes de Colombia. Sus 2.150 metros sobre el nivel del mar y el valle hacia el suroccidente por donde se oculta el sol, hacen que desde la ciudad estos colores se puedan apreciar con más claridad, pues no hay presencia de montañas altas en esta dirección. Y como último ingrediente es El Nevado del Ruiz, su cercanía es un cambio importante debido a la emisión de ceniza que es todo el día y esto aviva el efecto sobre los colores de los atardeceres.
