“Colorful Photography-Hokkaido Ainu Artwork”
I took some cool photos of Ainu (Japanese Indigenous People) artwork at JR Sapporo Station in Hokkaido, Japan. Hokkaido has changed a lot compared to before to show beautiful Ainu artwork like this before.
Unfortunately, Japanese society’s attitude and behaviour were not appropriate to Indigenous people before and still, our society should change more.
“ カラフルな写真-北海道のアイヌのアート”
JR札幌駅に飾られているアイヌのアート作品の写真を撮りました。以前に比べるとかなりアイヌの方たちの作品がこうして身近に見られるようになってきました。
残念ながら、日本社会の先住民の方たちに対する態度はきちんとしたものとは言えないのが現状です。もっと変化するべきだと思います。
This wood-carving of an Ainu man looks very tough and powerful is called “Ureshipa Mosiri Hokkaido Irankarapte” which is located in front of the Sapporo JR train west exit area. He is an Ainu Ekashi (elder). He has a traditional Ainu hunting bow in his hands and he is dancing a traditional dance called Kurimuse (Bow Dance). Under his feet, there are very cool Ainu carvings as well. Ureshipa Mosiri means “a land for us to live together in harmony" and Irankarapte means "welcome or hello" in the Ainu language.
この「ウレシパモシリ北海道イランカラプテ像」はJR札幌駅西口の出口を出てすぐのところにあります。彼はアイヌのエカシ（長老）で、伝統的な弓を手に持ちクリムセという弓の舞を舞っているところだそうです。エカシの足元にはたくさんの素晴らしい工芸品が置いてあります。ウレシパモシリとはアイヌ語で「育てあう大地」、イランカラプテとは「こんにちは・いらっしゃい (丁寧な挨拶）」という意味だそうです。

これは伝統的なアイヌの刺繍が施されたタペストリーで、同じくJR札幌駅西口エリアに飾られています。とても美しい刺繍模様です。
I bought some beautiful Ainu artwork in Hokkaido. I got an Ezo deer antler for my dog. He looked so happy with it and it has become his favourite toy and toothbrush. I also bought Ezo deerskin for my husband. You can wipe your smartphone, laptop screen, or glasses. Additionally, I bought a Washi (Japanese paper) hair band with Ainu artwork. After I started using it, the Washi paper started fading little by little and it looks more beautiful.
北海道で綺麗なアイヌアート作品を買いました。わたしの犬にはエゾシカのツノをお土産にしました。とても喜んでいて、お気に入りのおもちゃ・歯ブラシになりました。主人にはエゾシカの皮を。スマホやラップトップの画面や眼鏡拭き用です。自分にはアイヌ紋様の入った和紙の髪留めです。使いこんでいくと少しずつ和紙が薄れてきていい風合いになってきました。
I think unfortunately most countries don't treat the Indigenous people very well... I hope every country can change their attitudes and try to correct past wrongs
I love the pattern on that hair band you bought! That is really cool! That's a kind of mandala pattern I've never seen before. I want to try to copy that.
