Sunflower has become synonymous with the Sun since its shape resembles the shape of the sun and along with this, its growth is contingent on the sun. It follows the phenomenon known as heliotropism i.e. the motion of the sun from east to the west. These photos are not from mine garden but from my nearby neighbour. I had long wanted it to be planted in my garden but it doesn't have much space to cultivate and grow it. Also, most of my garden receive only partial sunlight mainly during the noon time. So, it is not practicable to grow sunflower there as it blooms and grows well only when it is exposed to sunlight. The presence of tall houses in every direction blocks the ray of sunlight entering into the garden.
