Sliding Bunny - Light Painting on HIVE

Come and play. We all play down here.

Today is the last part of our trip to the abandoned Russian airfield together with Hans, Matthias and @stepko. Actually, the demolition work should have started already, but so far everything is still standing. Maybe we will go there again. It's a very cool playground for our light painting pictures. Speaking of the playground...

Apropos Spielplatz...

A children's playground in this apocalyptic setting is something special. I haven't seen that anywhere else so far. The last soldiers left in 1993. Nobody cares about maintaining the buildings and the playground. Nevertheless, everything is still in quite good condition.

At first, our bunny Hans stood with his back to the camera. I blew some mist in front of Hans, illuminating him and the playground. After that, Hans went to the slide and I lit him and the slide with the DIY Light Scanner. That doesn't sound so difficult, does it? But it took us a few tries until the result was as I had imagined it.

Either the slide didn't fit in the back or the silhouette was too weak or whatever else can go wrong.

After all that light painting, we were getting hungry. We went to the nearby kitchen. Luckily, the kitchen sloth still had a sesame ring and whipped cream.

I first illuminated the sloth @stepko with the DIY Light Scanner. Then I illuminated the area around the feeding hatch with the Emisar D4K. In the last step, I illuminated the kitchen with light blue light. As usual, all pictures were taken in a single exposure.

I had found the tetrapack with the whipped cream in the kitchen. It had been there since at least 1989. The cream was produced in the GDR. The price is written on the pack in GDR marks. The package was empty. Rats or mice probably nibbled the corner of the package and then drank the cream. I was very impressed that such a fragile relic had survived for so long in such an inhospitable place.

In this picture you can see the kitchen with the hatch through which the sloth is looking.

Here you can see the other side, the former dining hall for the soldiers.

And then @stepko started preparing for his picture, which he then took in the kitchen. I'm already looking forward to the result.

This was once again a very cool outing with you crazy people. Thanks for the great time together with endless fun and lots of cool light paintings. See you soon.

WHAT IS LIGHT PAINTING?

Light painting is a unique form of art. The darkness is illuminate by the artist with diverse light sources and light traces are paint into the picture with various light tools. Various techniques are use, such as camera rotation or other movements of the camera during the exposure. The creative possibilities are almost unlimited. All the pictures were taken during one single exposure. Apart from denoising, sharpening, cutting and possibly adjusting the white balance, the pictures are not processed on the computer.

Da ist ja mein Freund das Faultier. Was ein Spaß 😂. 😉

😂 I was wondering if you guys met up with them again, but this has confirmed that didn't happen.

Ja, könnte sein. 😂😂😂

You guys all have so much fun, I can see why you miss them when you're out by yourself doing lightpainting @lichtkunstfoto 😂; gotta admit here, still wishing I could have such fun with others creating in the same manner.

Really loved the first shot. Hans does well being a bunny, lol! The shadow and the way the slide is framed, the mist blown in, all comes together in this way that reflects the essence of the location. Love the sloth image also. Pretty cool finding such kitchen relics.

@stepko, how many masks do you have? I'm dying to know and also waiting for you to post again, lolol.

Thanks 😊 It's always about fun. ...and fireworks sometimes 😁 Reminds me to blow all the fireworks from last year soon.

You're welcome, really enjoying what all of you create. LOL, fireworks sometimes! So, there's an upcoming fireworks display to watch for, I seeeeee, lol.

Not sure. It's raining most of the time.

Darn rain interference. It'll be a timing thing then.

you continue the series of scary photos. According to me you are going to do this

I think, I do more next time. 😁

It was a successful photography work. Your style is different from many others.

The bunny's head climbing up the stairs is particularly nicely placed; the first thing my eye was drawn to. Cool!
