THE FEELING OF SHOOTING ON SUCH A HUGE SET IS JUST INCREDIBLE...
I am lucky to live in the capital of Bulgaria, the city of Sofia. This city is among the few European capitals that are surrounded by mountains. Vitosha mountain is very easily accessible and quite high. You change three buses from the public transport regardless of where you live in the city after about an hour and a half in the mountains.
I present to you two city girls who found solitude in nature. Vanessa and Lara do all the normal things for city girls. There is one huge difference that sets them apart and makes them interesting to everyone around them. They maintain an entire horse base precisely in the Vitosha mountain. The base essence belongs to Laura's father, but he has passed the baton to his daughter, who runs it with her best friend.
That's how I met them. They needed a photographer to tell a story of their day. In the preliminary conversation they shared about a movie set located somewhere around the base. They didn't know exactly where it was, but if I wanted, we could search together. Well, how could I not want to...
The sun was quickly hiding under the majestic pine forests. It was only half an hour before sunset, and the shadow on the mountain was quite thick. A downright nightmare for any photographer.
I took some pictures during the transition so that we would not be left empty-handed in case of a failure with the base. I was just starting to get sad, loudly cursing my fate, and in the distance we saw a tall wooden structure imitating an ancient fortress. I put Vanessa on the horse and we quickly galloped towards her. Once inside I fell in love... There were so many different props and so little time left for photos...
In the end, I was able to photograph what you see, which is not all. In the next story, maybe I'll show you more…
