From what I've experienced when drawing and painting in public for years in all kinds of spots, it's not the wanting to be alone, it's the act of creating that draws people. I've been on both sides of that experience equally and this is what I see. It doesn't matter what creative form either.

Interesting... And yet so many refuse to even try anything creative. Maybe they are drawn to what they fear? Or they want permission to try?

Each has their own way of being and reasons for what they choose. If you observe people, you can learn a lot simply from watching. People tell you who they really are through their actions if you pay attention to it. Individually, you can always ask a person why. Sometimes it's a very sensitive topic for people and they don't wish to go there. In that case it's always best to respect another's boundaries. One doesn't need to know why.
