Beautiful sights abound when this happens, as the mountains were in places completely blanketed by the clouds. But every here and there, the mountains assured me that they were still there.

Some days things are wild over here. The Cape is known for its ultra strong winds, and they can certainly turn things upside down. We have seen huge trees being uprooted by the winds and at times even high sided trucks on the highways can be flipped over.
Now imagine that you wake up in the morning and as you open your front door, you look over the front gate and you see this below.
So you run across the road to take a better look, but there is not much to look at. Honey, the shout goes up, someone stole the mountains :)
Then you jump into your car and great relief as you travel along, you see that the mountains are still there and that the clouds have only been playing a trick on you.
And then later, things started to clear, but the windspeed increased.
The wind cleared the surface of the mountains, but like winter that takes a long time to go away, the clouds are the same as they kept on clinging to the mountains. As you will see below.
Finally, I wonder if you can tell me where the train is in the photo below.
I have seen these sights before, but this time around the clouds seem to be a little bit denser around the mountains. In some areas, touching the ground. What I know is if one walks around where the clouds touch the ground, then it is only mist. A dense mist, I might add.
Strange weather around here lately, and in the media there was a story that it rained so heavily in the drought areas that a dry river overflowed for the first time in 8 years. By now, many know about the severe floods and the damages that we have had here recently, and they say that it happens every 100 years. Farmers have lost animals and crops, some lives were lost, and many poor people ended up with having nothing as their shacks have been washed away. Everyone reckons that nature is angry, and no need to wonder why.
I hope you have enjoyed the pictures and the story.

!!PIZZA and !LOL
This really got me laughing 😂. Though it seems the region is kind of high when leveled with the earth surface. As for the picture, I can't see the train anywhere. Trying to zone the photo further makes it very blur. The white circular object doesn't look like a train to me.
Thanks for sharing such a great post.
Just a bit of humor there 😉
The region needs to be kind of high, as we have the Atlantic Ocean on our front porch.
The white circular object is a water reservoir and if you look at the left of it, you will see what looks like a row of small boxes. They are the coaches of the train.
oooh 🧐,thanks for revealing that
All good!
beautiful natural scenery.
Thank you and glad that you liked it.

The silhouette of the mountains… the rough rocks peeking through the clouds/ mist.
Stunning.
Have a lovely Saturday 👋🏻😊
!PIZZA
Thank you and it has a very mystic feel methinks.
The clouds are driven by very strong winds here and today the mountains were covered again.
Glad that you liked the post.
Have a great Sunday.

You are welcome 😊
So beautiful… we drove some country roads this evening… the mist came in, the trees all orange and red. Cars ahead with headlights. Just awesome views 😎
Thanks a lot! Enjoy your views too. Sounds like more like this come!
Have a good Sunday.

Yes I know…
Today was a challenging day. I though we went for a nice stroll into the forest a bit up a mountain… turned out we climbed the steepest up, through and over the biggest boulders I had seen, over rivers and trees… all the way up to a viewing spot 720 meters. Hahaha 🤣 I will never forget that hike.
I couldn’t even take much photos, so challenging the hike was. Included rain on the way down what made it very slippery.
Will post about it when back home again.
Thank you so much Zac
Have a good night 😴

This photos are beautiful. This the real phenomena of nature
Oh how I love fog and dramatic weather! (Not extreme heat, thank you; just clouds and storms and such!)
Whew, I'm glad you got them back! They are lovely. You wouldn't want anyone taking them away. Yes, I spied the train. But it was definitely teensy in that big expansive landscape!
Very sad about the flooding. I'm glad it only happens once a century. I hope people are in recovery mode. If Mother Nature would only punish those who are most responsible for climate change, and not the innocent, that would certainly be preferable.
I share your opinion about fog and dramatic weather my friend.
Just a bit of humor to get a smile, as those mountains are there for centuries and they have no plans to emigrate, like so many souls here do. I know that it's not easy to see the train and you have a very good eye.
The normal floodings that we have here are bad, but nothing compared to this crazy flood. 3 months of rain in one day. The sun shines on both good and bad and it's similar to the flood, as at the end we will all get what we deserve.

! help(no space) to get help on Hive. InfoThose are dense clouds indeed, but what a sight when they start dissipating and the majestic mountains start showing off their beauty! The Cape is stunning, but those winds are just so fierce, I can quite imagine it pushing a truck over.
Nature indeed seems to be angry all over the world!
I see the train there 😉
You are so right, as the views are magical when the curtains of clouds are pulled aside by the winds, to reveal the beauty of the mountains. Never before have we encountered winds like this in the recent flood my dear friend, and simply devastating cannot describe it. Plucks deeply rooted old trees out roots and all like drawing pins.
And they say that it's only the beginning.
You too have a very keen eye Lady Lizzie.
Enjoy your stay and please take care.
