Waiting for the rain.

I just had to get to the mountains and it was still light when we arrived.

A flock of Guinea fowl greeted us as we arrived at the farm.

NOTE: We have a power cut at 6pm and I will do the replies after.

We knew that the rain was coming, so we made a plan to go to a farm where the mountains are on full display. I like to watch when the first clouds arrive, as it is always very dramatic.
The coming storm will hopefully lift more of our dam levels and the rain is most welcome. Now in Winter the cold is always refreshing and we enjoy being out in the countryside.
Come and have a look.

Here the first clouds arrived, and slowly it became darker.

Finally, just this fantastic sight of the clouds spearing their way over the mountain range.

That's it, as the first big drops started to fall and we had to get out of there. We have a little VW Polo and once the roads become wet, the mud presents a problem for us to get along in our car. One day I hope to get one of those 4x4 trucks to go out with into nature. An ideal would be to have one of those pop-up tents on the back of the truck. Such as the one that @broncnutz has.
I hope you have enjoyed the wait with us for the rain.

I think there will be a heavy rain 🌧 coming. But you have to find a safe place and wait for the rain to stop.

Oh yes it is still raining here and we are only 6 kilometers away from the mountains , so it was easy to get back home before the rain started !LOL

They are stunning cloud formations. How cold does it get in your part of the world?

Thank you and this is Africa mate, so we never go below zero.

That's something. My wife visited some of her family who moved to Australia a long while ago. She went around Easter time. She was enjoying the sun on the beach, it was in the mid 20s centigrade, her relatives were wrapped up because they were cold. It's sometimes what you are used to as to whether it's hot or cold.

Oh yes, one acclimatizes to a local area and anything away from it weather wise is strange.
Up in the far north of our country the people are used to +40C temperatures and when they come down south here 25C is very cold for them.

Great capture of the ominous looking clouds. It was either going to rain or God was about to speak to you 🤣

Whoo-hoo, so I should have waited for the culmination instead of running for the hills.
Thank you and enjoy your week.

Those are some very impressive cloud formations. Nature is awesome in all her glory!

Thank you and they are indeed strikingly beautiful. Full of a hidden menace.
We love Mother nature!
