📷 Two Winter Sunsets

in Photography Lovers3 years ago

Nothing special, just two winter sunsets: the first was taken from a drone, and the second, in which the sun is still quite high, from a camera. I brought both shots from a trip to the Lofoten Islands, Norway — this was my last overseas trip before international borders began to close this spring. I don't know why, but I really like both shots, although they are not some kind of masterpieces or classic landscape shots of sunsets with bright reds, oranges, pinks in the sky.

Here in both pictures there is a rather restrained color scheme, leaving a feeling of winter and light cold, not too bright sun shining through light clouds, and only small hints of sunset yellow-orange hues. The first shot is more focused on the background, while the second, on the contrary, is mainly in the foreground. I hope no one is confused by the photos from the cemeteries? I don't want to offend anyone's religious feelings, but old cemeteries are often very nice and calm places, picturesque and photogenic, and sometimes on trips I go to such places just to walk, watch or take pictures. How do you feel about taking pictures in cemeteries? Do you shoot there?

The first picture for me is about nature and time, eternity: mountains, sea, sun — how many millennia have passed and still will pass, and such a view can always be seen here or elsewhere. And the second one speaks of a person, at the same time short-lived in the individual sense and continuing in time with the help of new generations. For myself, I can't decide which picture I like better :) And which one for you — with an emphasis on nature or on a person?

It's better to watch the photos in high resolution.
