Most of the time we go to beaches by land, so when we want to visit one that is only accessible by sea, it seems to me that the trip becomes more exciting. Let's see...
La mayoría de las veces vamos a las playas por vía terrestre, por eso cuando queremos visitar una que sólo es accesible por vía marítima, me parece que el viaje se torna más emocionante. Veamos...
I've been to this beach before but every experience is different and this time I took many more pictures, I had that goal. We arrived at La Boca, in the town of Ocumare de la Costa (Aragua - Venezuela) and there we took a boat to La Cienaga, a dreamy inlet.
He ido antes a esta playa pero cada experiencia es diferente y en esta ocasión hice muchas más fotos, tenía ese objetivo. Llegamos a La Boca, en el pueblo de Ocumare de la Costa (Aragua - Venezuela) y allí tomamos una embarcación hacia La Ciénaga, una ensenada de ensueño.
Depending on how the sea is, calm, rough or furious, the trip takes between 15 and 20 minutes. This time it was quite calm, so the boat didn't bounce around much and we didn't get wet either.
Dependiendo de cómo esté el mar, calmado, alborotado o furioso, el recorrido tarda entre 15 y 20 minutos. Esta vez estaba bastante calmado, así que la lancha no dio muchos brincos y tampoco nos mojamos.
Once you move away from the coast you can appreciate much better the landscape of this place surrounded by mountains and lots of greenery, practically the cloud forest is thrown to the sea.
Una vez que te alejas de la costa puedes apreciar mucho mejor el paisaje de este lugar rodeado de montañas y mucho verdor, prácticamente la selva nublada se lanza al mar.
You also come across large rock formations, on which there are many birds swarming.
También te topas con grandes formaciones rocosas, sobre las cuales hay muchas aves pululando.
Shortly after, the boats turn left and we enter the inlet.
Poco después las lanchas giran a la izquierda y es cuando ya vamos entrando a la ensenada.

On both sides of La Ciénaga inlet there are several scattered small houses, most of which are tourist service facilities. Since it is part of a National Park (Henri Pittier), large-scale construction is not permitted.
A ambos lados de la ensenada de La Ciénaga hay varias casitas dispersas, la mayoría son instalaciones para prestar servicios turísticos. Al ser parte de un Parque Nacional (Henri Pittier), no están permitidas las construcciones de gran envergadura.
We got off the boat and left our things in a place assigned to us by the people we did this tour with. Since we were going to stay camping there, there was no rush, as other people who come back and forth do, so I was able to calmly observe the surroundings. The shore is quite limited, mangroves and vegetation in general are the protagonists here.
Nos bajamos de la lancha y dejamos nuestras cosas en un lugar que nos asignó la gente con la que hicimos este tour. Como íbamos a quedarnos acampando allí, no había apuro, como sí lo tienen otras personas que vienen ida y vuelta, así que pude observar con calma los alrededores. La orilla es bastante limitada, los manglares y la vegetación en general son protagonistas aquí.
At this end of the beach, where there is more vegetation, almost no one swims, there is also algae in the water.
En este extremo de la playa donde hay más vegetación casi nadie se baña, también se ven algas dentro del agua.
In La Cienaga there are no waves, that's why many call it "the pool", plus the water temperature is super nice. Towards the other end of the beach, where almost everyone swims, you can see beautiful shades of blue.
En La Ciénaga no hay olas, por eso muchos la llaman "la piscina", además la temperatura del agua es súper agradable. Hacia el otro extremo de la playa, donde casi todo el mundo se baña, puedes ver bellísimas tonalidades de azul.
I walked barefoot but when you go a little further you need some kind of shoe because there are many stones that make it difficult to walk and can cut the soles of your feet.
Yo andaba descalza pero al ir un poco más allá hace falta algún tipo de zapato porque hay muchas piedras que te dificultan caminar y te pueden cortar la planta de los pies.
As I told you, there are some small houses around here, very picturesque and built with natural materials such as wooden planks, stones, etc. There is no electricity (they use plants) and fresh water is either brought from the town of Ocumare de la Costa or collected from the rain in tanks.
Como les comenté, hay algunas casitas por aquí, muy pintorescas y construidas con materiales naturales como tablas de madera, piedras, etc. No hay tendido eléctrico (usan plantas) y el agua dulce o la traen del pueblo de Ocumare de la Costa o la recogen de la lluvia en tanques.
As I was exploring some little dogs joined me, they seemed to say, "it's this way, come and see this".
Mientras exploraba unos perritos se me unieron, parecían decirme: "es por aquí, ven a ver esto".
And indeed there was something interesting to look at, a kind of art installation made with materials from nature and other details.
Y efectivamente había algo interesante que mirar, una especie de instalación artística hecha con materiales de la naturaleza y otros detalles.
In general La Ciénaga has no permanent inhabitants, it is only active on weekends or holidays when tourists arrive, but people from the nearby town who work here as well as fishermen also come on weekdays to attend to other matters such as repairing their boats.
Por lo general La Ciénaga no tiene habitantes permanentes, sólo se activa los fines de semana o feriados cuando llegan los turistas, pero las personas del pueblo cercano que trabajan aquí así como los pescadores, vienen también en días de semana para atender otros asuntos como por ejemplo reparar sus botes.

Yo tammbien he ido a la ciénaga en el estado araguaa y es bellisima me encanta que sus aguas son cristalinas y no tienen un oleaje fuerte, se puede disfrutar tranquilos y hacer diferentes tipos de actividades

Thank you! Those mangroves are around much of the beach, they are too dense to walk through, so you can only get a little close where there is more sand. They are very useful because they keep the water clean.

Preciosas fotografías , las he visto una y otra vez, capturaste unas imágenes increíbles que le hacen justicia total a ese hermoso lugar. Mi favorita es la de los barquitos de kayac aunque me encantan muchísimas más, realmente es todo un paraíso.
Recuerdo haber estado en un tour de un día allí y haberme parecido un lugar con un encanto único, es verdad que parece una piscina, hermoso.
Recuerdo lo bonita que se veía el agua tal cual se muestra en tus imágenes 🥰 me ha encantado transportarme a ese momento a través de tu experiencia.
También me gusta mucho saber que el lugar sigue protegido y cuidado, lo que no sabía es que se podía pernoctar ahí, me parece una idea maravillosa tuvo que haber sido todo un espectáculo.

Mencionas los barquitos y olvidé decir que hacer kayak allí es de las mejores experiencias, darle la vuelta a esa piscina. Lo que lamenté un poco es que no había mucho sol ese día, pero aún así los azules destacan, sin duda es la magia del Caribe jejeje.
La próxima vez que vayas ya sabes, puedes acampar e incluso bañarte de noche, el agua es cálida. Y sí, afortunadamente los pobladores y operadores turísticos cuidan mucho el lugar.
