Considered the green lung of Caracas, the Waraira Repano or Ávila National Park is full of adventures for lovers of hiking. Among the diversity of routes that it offers, today I bring you images of one of low difficulty but with beautiful landscapes throughout the route.
It is about the Tour of the Streams until reaching the Indian Stone, a walk that I did with a hiking group and that took me to see some easily accessible waterfalls that this protected natural area has.
We start the hike before 8:00 in the morning, having as a starting point the Sabas Nieves I Ranger Station, one of the most visited on this mountain.
We passed through Quebrada Seca (Dry Stream) and about 200 meters from Sabas Nieves we made our first stop to see Quebrada Quintero (Quintero Stream), a large stone through which a stream of water slides. There were already some people cooling off there, we did the same by wetting our faces a bit and then we continued.
Although you are submerged in the mountains and most of the time you walk among abundant and high vegetation, at certain points there are beautiful panoramic views of Caracas, which remind you that you are not far from the city.
We took a climb that was on the right side of Quebrada Quintero to reach our next point, Quebrada Pajaritos. Although this path is easy, without steep climbs, it is somewhat long, about 45 minutes.
From here the path began to clear a bit and the views of the city were always present.
Now we were heading to the Indian Stone, a rock that stands out from the mountain and where many people go to take pictures with Caracas as a background.
To get there you have to climb a steep path, if you go on a weekend for sure there will be a lot of people and you will have to wait a bit to stand on it and look at the spectacular landscape from there, 1600 meters high.
We stayed for a long time in the Indian Stone, breathing in the energy of the mountain and then we started the descent, a bit steep in certain parts, through the Cachimbo Park Ranger Post, until we reached the city again at noon.

Thank you very much @LivingUKTaiwan! :)
Looks like you had a wonderful day with green nature a little bit away from the city, I really like the vibrant environment around me. Yes, the photographs have been very nice too.
Actually I love to travel in green environment, but don’t get too much time to travel.
Definitely being in contact with nature is very important, at least for me, it gives you another perspective to face everyday things, I think it improves our attitude. Thanks for your comment!
