Market Friday Back to NYC

A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Hive, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.

For this weeks post, I did not want to miss joining the Market Friday so again I delved back into my photo archives for photos I had not shared before that would fit for a post to share and found a few from my walks I used to do in NYC

Starting with the Paramount Theater on Broadway

I never saw a Broadway show at that theater but did go to a few show sin my time there, they sure do such an amazing job of them there and if you ever visit NYC I do suggest you catch a Broadway show if you can

I have bene asked by a few people over the years since i retired and left NYC if I miss it, and I have to say I have mixed thoughts on that, I did enjoy my early morning walks in the city there was always so much to see and new spots to explore, in addition the city is always changing, so in a way I do miss those walks, but that was early morning when the streets were relatively quiet, but that did not last long and then the streets got busy and being a country boy at heart, when the city got busy I honestly hated it, and felt I was in an over populated concrete Jungle

if I had to choose between early morning walks in a city, any city for that matter, and walks on a nice beach, or trail I will choose the beaches and trails always :)

Next up one of the many bars in NYC

Hey @tattoodjay, here is a little bit of BEER from @pixresteemer for you. Enjoy it!

Did you know that <a href='https://dcity.io/cityyou can use BEER at dCity game to buy cards to rule the world.

I agree to you that market Friday is a good community and opportunity to join every Friday. By the you show us some beautiful restaurant of new York city 🤩

Those are some awesome photos. I love how the canopies and signs are so bright. They just draw you into a place. I wouldn't mind trying any one of those places if I was looking for a place to eat. Just based on the way they look.

I've been to a few broadway shows ... and a few bars and diners in NYC 😊 I gotta agree, I always enjoy visiting but never had the urge to live there. It has a center of the universe appeal. Like everything and everybody is there. But I don't need to live in the center of everything.

Really cool photos. I went to NYC twice. Once with my mom and we stayed in a fancy hotel and ate some nice places. The second time was with my husband and we did it on a budget. Ha! Both were fun, but I remember it being super noisy in the hotel where my husband and I stayed - construction work. Anyway, I remember all the noise and smells and people. I definitely prefer the quiet life we have here in Panama and all the green we see daily, our volcano backdrop, and all the birds chirping. Ha!

Ohh yeah NYC can and often is so noisy for sure

These are some really amazing photos and I've always attributed NYC to a city that you can find almost anything. I've added NYC to the list of places I'm planning to visit and I'll check out that Broadway like you said.

All the old skool restaurants and diners. I love it. Buffalo has lost most of those places now. New places replaced them, but I loved the old rustic looking diners with the HUGE sign that reads RESTAURANT, just in case there was any doubt of what the place might be. 🤣 Welcome back!

NYC is good that many of the old school places are still there, they have a charm to them and would be a shame if they were all replaced by new fancy smancy places

Great walk and photography! ❤👌 Nyc is magnificent ✨️❤ from India

Angels actually was a good restaurant years ago, was closed in the 80s and reopened, then closed during Covid. So, it is probably done.

I love, love, love that first shot, Broadway always looks amazing, the colors, the lights, the showbusiness aura, it all plays a part in what makes it so cool there. I don't think I have ever had a bad time down there and the shows, well, they have always been great!

I miss NYC but actually get back about once every other month, even for an overnight, so I get a tiny little bit to savor. Sometimes, I only get to Long Island and sometimes only Queens, but, it is all relative.

Look at the colors on Smith's Bar and the Ritz Diner! Everything about the city is cool and exciting - until it is not. And then, I want to go back home to the peace of the calm lifestyle that I have adopted. :)

I agree~ There are a lot of fun things about it, but, that was another lifetime ago for me and I have fallen into the peace of it all that is mine now. Thanks for this! You always make such a great post for the challenge! Thank you always for the support!

#MarketFriday began as a way to reach out across the globe and learn about different cultures through their markets, especially local markets and farmers' markets, and eventually branched out and evolved over time from straight shopping to a cultural affair as it highlights how we differ and then again, how much we are alike. We have become a melting pot of culture, but it is still the Rituals, Festivals, food, architecture, and even your language/languages that separate us... Along with the fact that these things are normal for us. There are unwritten rules that rule our social behaviors. I see this as allowing for increased tolerance between cultures and nations, and opportunities to come together on an even playing ground. A strong culture can be beneficial to a country as it promotes unity, especially during a crisis, peaceful debate, and open dialogue. I have learned so much about all of you and it has been an amazing experience. I can only hope that learning about each other can help us work together for a peaceful world.

Thank you for being a part of #MarketFriday

Thanks for the info about angels
Even though I did enjoy my early morning walks in the city I was a country boy at heart and really did not like the city that much and was glad to get out of it at the end of the working day just to crowded for me when it gets busy LOL

I can see that and see why. The less I have been there and even here, the better I go for the peace and quiet.

👍🙂👍
