Mono Monday Mausoleums in St Mary's and St Johns Cemeteries
Another weekend has raced on by, Monday is upon us and a new week begins, may it be a good one for you all.
And as is my habit I am sharing mono images today, focusing on some Mausoleums I took photos of in St John's and St Mary's Cemeteries here in New Bedford as I remember someone recently commenting they would like to see more of them.
I think Mono edits work well with these images, given a deep sort of profound feel to them but perhaps that just me, I think they are generally beautiful but in a somber kind of way if that makes sense

These seem to be from the period around the 1950's not sure why I had thought they would be older.
I knwo in one of the other cemeteries here there are older ones, I thought I had photos of them but couldnt find them to include in this post, either I was imagining that I had taken them, or just wasn't looking hard enough to find them

I try to do different style of edits when preparing images for my Mono Monday posts, some it may be the shade I use for the mono and some with more high or low key editing style

Now this next one was taken on a visit on a foggy morning which added to the deep solemn feel int he cemetery

The foggy image is my favourite - the fog suits to cemeteries just as good as the images look best in mono 😊
I have always found the word Mausoleum kind of funny because the first part of the word is Maus, and Maus means mouse in English 😉

Yes, the monochrome does add. And it works so well with cemeteries.

Still even not that old they are well preserved. I think the one you comment on is good protected for the weather with the larger edges all around.

These cemeteries look just like you see them in the movies.
By Argentina they are very different and much less pleasant to visit. Here the distance between one grave and another is much smaller and the aspect is really horrible.
The last photo with the fog looks like an image we can see in suspense movies.

Yeah, I think a lot of people have fallen off a bit lately. Probably just that time of the year for us in the US. Maybe the markets for people in other areas.
For me its more since being retired i have less time, I get out early morning for walks on nice days and then do some editing and commenting, but once my wife gets up I am busy with her or running around doing this or that and the day dissapears
