You are 100% right! I first discovered the South Lípez in the late ’90s, when it was completely off the tourist radar — harsh, remote, and absolutely unforgettable. Since then, a bit of tourism has developed, but most 4x4s still follow the same route, which leaves plenty of space for those who want to explore and feel that quiet magic you mentioned. Maybe that’s the right balance in the end, allowing everyone to enjoy the place in their own way?
