Three Waterfalls In One Hike

I went to the top of the Hamilton escarpment because the weather network was calling for a thunderstorm. I have been trying to get a good lighting shot over the downtown of the city for years now, but this storm turned out to be a short and light rain.

Not wanting to give up on photos for the day, I decided to go further down the escarpment to a couple of waterfalls that don't have waterflow unless there has been rain. I made my way down the Chedoke trail to Sanatorium Falls (named after a sanatorium that used to be at the top of them). This is a waterfall that can be quite beautiful when there is good waterflow.

As I approached, I could hear a small water flow. So rather than hiking through thick brush, I put my drone up and saw this.

Yes that is a couch. There is also a picture and what looks like a severely broken dresser. Some big brain people literally threw their household garbage over the top of the waterfall. Isn't humanity great sometimes?

Again not ready to give up, I pushed on down the trail to Scenic Falls. Another waterfall that only has a good flow after some rain. Not this time! There was very little water, but I was able to get some good shots.

Now determined to get some good waterfall shots I turned around and went the opposite way on the trail. Lower Chedoke waterfall always has flow and is beautiful! By the time I made it to the area of it, it was getting dark. Even better! Now I could get longer exposure times. I ventured into the ravine and snapped these shots.

It was a trying hike, but as always. Fully worth it!

There are always too many idiots around. i cant understand, why they put their old stuff in the nature. Great pictures, by the way.

Some big brain people literally threw their household garbage over the top of the waterfall.

Oof. Smh, that's really the only explanation that makes sense. Otherwise what a great hike! In the long exposure shots the water is like satin. It looks very peaceful.

Ah wtf those people throwing their stuff in there. How hard is it to throw it along with their usual trash to be collected by the trucks??

Nice shots there! Lucky you, it got darker :D They turned out well
