Black on White Inside Red

in Photography Lovers2 years ago (edited)

Today I decided to risk my life a little to get a couple of good shots in my ornithological album. I know the location of a couple of bird markets that you can get close to at low tide. Noticed them a month ago on a boat trip, and the sailors confirmed that the huge white dots on the background of gray rocks are bird colonies, and I can walk along the shore to them, but not before June. Well, June has come, and here I'm.

The coast greeted me with wonderful weather, bright polar sun, blue sky and almost no cold wind from the sea, which I will regret soon ...

Lovely pictures - we had a lot of cormorants where I was born on the coast in the North of Scotland. I used to love watching them fishing and then sunning themselves to dry off. You've got some great pictures of them there !

We also get another type similar, called a shag -which I understand is a close relative of the cormorant.

Yes, Scotland is a beautiful country - hopefully you get the opportunity one day.

I'm so sorry to hear your cormorants are on the verge of extinction. We have lots of them, and they can be found all over the coast of Scotland. I even saw one fishing on an inland lake 3 or 4 weeks ago (although it was still very close to the sea). They are lovely birds !

Yes, it is amazing to observe animals in their natural habitat… and wow… you did. What a trip.
Luckily nothing bad happened and you could remain your consciousness. It must have been awe full when the wind turned.
Beautiful captures @thenortherner 😁 so well presented.
Have a great new week!

You're welcome @thenortherner. Glad that you enjoy this badge 😊👍

Awesome captures of the Great Cormorant, dear Northman. I think the ones I see here are the double created cormorants. They eat a lot of fish and many people don’t like them around decimating the fish supply with the amount they eat each day.

You are a brave soul . I can almost smell the ammonia scent you encountered there. Where is the wind when you need it? 😆 💨

Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!

Love your visual stories, the stories as much as the visuals. Glad you survived the ammonia wave hitting you. We need you on here ;^)

Fantastic photos, thank you for sharing.
