Today's photos were taken in the first days of June, on the occasion of a trip to visit my daughter who lives in a small beach town called Garopaba. Its name is of indigenous origin and means “boat cove”, living up to its beautiful coastline.
Originally a fishing village, it is now an important tourist spot and also very popular with surfers.
Garopaba is located on the mainland south of the island of Santa Catarina, and it is possible to see this part of the island from the beach. It is located in a region where the Serra do Mar meets the Atlantic Ocean. With this, the beaches are marked by beautiful landscapes with hills and vegetation, some of them very preserved.
The city's urban beach has a fishing village and a historic center. Other beaches such as Silveira and Ferrugem, have great waves and are sought after by surfers.
On the day of the trip, the weather was not very good, with heavy rain threatening to fall. Even so, I managed to take some pictures.
The photos were taken from the top of a hill (Mirante das Antenas) and we can see Siriú beach and its dunes as well as the hills of Santa Catarina island in the distance and some small neighboring islands.
The blue light of the late afternoon, the mist coming from the sea, the silhouette of the hills, caught my eye and without thinking twice, I grabbed my camera and fired.

Olá a todos! Espero que estejam todos bem.
As fotos de hoje foram feitas nos primeiros dias de junho, em ocasião de uma viagem para visitar minha filha que mora numa cidadezinha de praia chamada Garopaba. Seu nome é de origem indígena e significa “enseada dos barcos”, fazendo jus ao seu belo litoral.
Originalmente uma vila de pescadores, é hoje um importante ponto turístico e também muito procurada pelos surfistas.
Garopaba se encontra no continente ao sul da ilha de Santa Catarina, e é possível ver essa porção da ilha desde a praia. Fica numa região onde a Serra do Mar encontra o Oceano Atlântico. Com isso as praias são marcadas por belas paisagens com morros e vegetação, algumas delas muito preservadas.
A praia urbana da cidade conta com uma vila de pescadores e um centro histórico. Já outras praias como Silveira e Ferrugem, possuem ótimas ondas e são procuradas por surfistas.
No dia da viagem o tempo não estava muito bom, ameaçando cair uma forte chuva. Mesmo assim, consegui fazer algumas imagens.
As fotos foram feitas desde o topo de um morro (Mirante das Antenas) e podemos ver a praia de Siriú e suas dunas assim como os morros da ilha de Santa Catarina na distância e algumas pequenas ilhas vizinhas.
A luz azul do fim de tarde, a névoa vindo do mar, a silhueta dos morros, atraíram meu olhar e sem pensar duas vezes, peguei minha câmera e disparei.
