Improving Blending in RSG

in Rising Star Game2 years ago

Hello, everyone.

Today I wanted to share some of my ideas for improving blending to both help collectors and normal players and the game's economy. All of these ideas could be mixed and matched or ignored.

What is Rising Star? In essence, it is a card collection game. One of the game's features gives you a unique opportunity to collect rarer cards, this feature is blending.

How does blending work? You select different NFTs or 10 of the same NFT to blend to a different card or a different version of that card. Since I told you about all that you need to about blending, now I can tell you how to improve it.

Example of Blending page

Multi-Tiered Blending

One of the ways to improve blending is to have a multi-tiered blending, for example, you get 10 copies of a card and blend it, and then you get 10 copies of that blended card to get an even rarer version of that card or even a totally different card. Maybe even a signature version. You can even have 10 different blended cards to be combined to get a rarer blended card. The level of depth and combinations for this system is almost limitless.

Weekly Timed Special Missions

You can have weekly missions that give a unique card to be blended, this mission could cost starbits to run, and take maybe an hour or more. If you run this mission 10 times you can then blend that week's card. You can combine this with the Multi-Tiered Blending, so if someone does the blending for 4 weeks, they can then blend those cards for that month's special blend.

As this mission costs some starbits to run and also takes some time to run, it should reduce the inflation of the starbits. You can even make the mission have a drop chance, to make it even more time-consuming.

One Time Choice Blends

You can make some of the blends one time choices, for example, a player can only blend that card once and they have a choice at what it blends to. This would make trading to get those cards paramount for collectors. It would make the game more dynamic, and interesting. This system also could be tied with the Weekly Timed Special Missions, Multi-Tiered Blending or both.

So, how does this helps a normal player?

As a normal player you do not care much about the cards themselves but the stats they bring. But collectors care about these cards, so a normal player can grind these missions to sell these cards to collectors and get the cards they need. These cards can even give sub-optimal stats only worth to a collector.

As I said at the start, all of these ideas can stand on their own or could be mixed and matched to even have a greater effect on the collection part of the game. Blending is such an interesting mechanic and could be so much more.

Thanks for reading my ideas, and please share what you think about them.
