A few weeks ago I had a Rising Star contest and put up a Bongos card as the prize.

i76 Talking Drum: 1 Luck

84 Nina: 10 Fans, 5 Skill, 0 Luck

R167 Diana: 125 Fans, 100 Skill, 3 Luck

All three of these cards are new ones for me! It's always nice to not receive any duplicates in a pack opening. I have no idea why the Talking Drum is called what it is, but now I'm curious to go look up why it talks, or if it doesn't talk, why it has that name.

My current RisingStar stats are as follows:

I'm doing well at running the Millionaire Card mission every day and also doing a couple of Local Mini Tour Support missions so my level is steadily increasing and I'm earning about 15,000 STARBITS daily. Given the soaring popularity of the game, the STARBITS price has been holding strong despite so much volatility in Hive.

I'm taking advantage of the drop in HIVE and converting some STARBITS to HIVE as well as preparing to deploy some of my HBD that was in savings.

I have not purchased any cards yet, looking for advice what would be a good first car to buy?? I was thinking that a card with a good number of fans would be good?

I don't do much buying of specific cards, but I highly recommend the card packs. The best deal seems to always be buying 12 RisingStar card packs for 100,000 STARBITS. You're guaranteed at least one Rare or better card in each pack too.
