Santa's Kandy, A F1 Sativa Dominate Hybrid.

What's up my fellow cannabis lovers! I am so happy with my tent setup, and to be out of the closet, just fells good. I grew for around 2+ years, then took a 6 month break. That was a big mistake. During my hiatus I made the mistake, and got addicted to opiates. Now that I am growing again, it is apparent why I did get addicted again. Growing brings me so much joy, and most of all it occupies my mind, and gives me a hobby. But wait Jon, you got kids, don't they bring you joy? VERY MUCH SO! Having kids is a full time job, and brings lots of stress. I love them so much, and in fact it is a motivator for me to not use, but life is hard. Being an addict is even harder. I have been very vocal about my abuse, and am not afraid to tell you all. Hopefully I can inspire a person who is currently using to stop, or warn someone before they decide to use for the first time. It has been 5 months since I have used, and growing cannabis is a big factor in my sobriety. I have fell in love with the herb all over again, and I fell great! There is no magic bullet to stop drug abuse, but there are tools you can use to aid your recovery. Cannabis is one of many. If you are struggling with addiction, and want to reach out to somebody, please do not hesitate to hit me up. I can be found on Discord, jonyoudyer#5915.

So it is now day 52 of flower for my Santa's Kandy F1 hybrid. It is a cross of Steem Og x Kandy Kush. This plant is leaning towards the sativa side, and is displaying traits of both parents. It truly is a delight!

I am using Nature's Living Soil, mixed with Fox Farm Ocean Forest Floor. This medium of growing is what most cannabis growers are turning to these day's. The yield may be smaller then with traditional bottle nutrients. But I am a connoisseur, and I am after great taste, and aroma. The Living Soil method is the best for terpene production. This is my first time growing with Living Soil, and the results speak for themselves. This is thee best plant I have grown in my 2 years of being a cannabis grower.

Since I am using Living Soil, I am using no bottled nutrients. I have only used teas, which I used rabbit poop, banana peels, and compost. I did add a top dressing two weeks into flower. I have a compost started right now, and should be ready in a month. Just in time for my next grow. I have gone down the rabbit hole of organic gardening, and look foreword for this journey of trying to achieve the best cannabis that I can grow!

When I first started this grow, I estimated that it would take around 60 days to finish flowering. I was wrong. As I am writing this I am in day 60, and I may just go another 30 days.

My biggest bud I have grown in my life!

Day 60. How much longer would you go?

The terpene profile on the Santa's Kandy has a strong aroma of freshly squeezed lemonade that has had a spoonful of sugar, then with a backdrop of gas, you know that Og Kush goodness! It is a very oily plant as well. When doing a little inspection, whatever I touch I can fell the stickiness. It truly is a delight, and to think the real magic has just begun. Once she packs on more weight, then I will know what exactly I am working with.

I am so glad I have decided to just focus on one plant. Before when I was doing a perpetual grow, I would be overwhelmed with to many plants, and sometimes even make the decision chop down all because I had a plant that needed to be moved out of the VEG room. Not only that, I did not have the room to VEG out a plant properly. Having the space, and having just one plant, I am able to train, and VEG out a plant on it's on time.

How much do you think she will yeild?

So I can not wait for my next strain, or strains I will grow next cycle. I am not going to crack a seed. I am going to the local nursery to pick up an elite cut. I am thinking maybe two, but no more then that. Anymore I would hinder quality. I am not after quantity, only bomb medicine.

Which one would you choose?

They also are selling F1 seedlings from some elite genetics. They have a Wedding Cake x Purple Punch from Purple City Genetics that I will for sure snatch if it is available when I am ready. Damn I love growing!! You know something, YOU SHOULD GROW TOO!

Sometimes you have to stop, and smell the Ganja ;)

Congrats on advancing your skill! Organic (in varying degrees.... up to and including the way I do it, without even adding any teas etc) increases the level of plant knowledge required by the gardener! It's like taking a handicap on purpose, in a way. But the results are further growth of your skill, and often, phenomenal medicine! Any lack of yield is easily made up for in the quality of the flowers. That plant will be a pleasure to finish up, dry, cure, and smoke! Cannabis heals and helps with many things. Even just being around the living plants can heal us. Grow in peace.

Thank you! Yeah doing it this way is teaching me a lot. I would say though, in a way some things are harder to control, vs using bottles nutes. But this is something you learn from, and correct with your soil formula on the next grow. But even though maybe some things are out of your hand when letting nature do it’s thing, it really is hard to fuck up, since organic soil is more forgiving. As far as doing teas, I need to learn more about it, but now that I got a compost, I will be making my teas out of that.

Totally nothing wrong with teas. I was just saying that going without them adds another layer of difficulty. Kinda like how you grew in a beer cup that time, to see what was possible, learn, enhance your skill. Personally I think if teas are made of natural organic material (like yours are) then why the hell not? They are easier when you have less plants imo, so you can customize your tea, the application of it, etc. Your gal sure benefited from all the extra love! She will return the favour to you soon : )

To bad you don’t live near by. Sharing is one of the best parts about growing. And this harvest will dwarf my other harvests I ever had! I was getting about a half oz a plant, sometimes 1 oz. so stoked man!

Sharing is definitely a major part of growing! I started mailing out tomato seeds on YouTube for free, from my previous year's harvest, every March. I already did mailing of small items (collectibles) due to my eBay and website business, so it was easy for me to ship the seeds out. People were really impressed to get something for free. All it really cost me was a stamp and a bit of time. Nowadays I hear those seeds are still being grown and harvested and shared, in all sorts of places. Those genetics are all over the place! It feels good to find and share good seeds, of all kinds of plants. It's how we improve our crops year after year, the more natural way. Mass produced monoculture gmo seeds from Monsanto are not the right way forward.

I would be happy to test a few hoots with you, that would be fun. You could pitch in a cola, and I'll bring the gear, and in a couple hours we can be enjoying terpy organic extracts fresh off the plant. Live rosin anyone? Whoosh, symptoms and cravings and withdrawals vaporized : D

WOW! Such a beatiful plant man, you are doing a wonderful job. I'm actually on my first try. I always wanted to grow my own medicine but never had the space until now. A friend from Jamaica recommended me to mix manure and perlite or something to the mix, redid the seemed to need more sun and better soil.

Also I would like to recommend Entheogen plant medicine guides treatment for permanent recovery from opiates addiction. I'm a personal yopo facilitator andI have seen excellent results of people suffering from years of abuse. If you are interested I can share some good info so you can decide if this kind of medicine is for you (I would think so for you nice connection to plants, they give special treatment for people that work the land).

Anyway, thanks for sharing this beatiful plant it only motivated to learn more about the process of growing the holy cannabis.

Hey! So first thanks for your meaningful comment! I am no expert on soil, but what I know about manure is it is some potent stuff! Some like rabbit, bats, birds are ready to use as is. But cow dung has to sit for at least 2 months before it is safe to use, especially on seedlings. A good rule of thumb to remember, seedlings barely need nutrients. Not until they grow up will they begin to crave high nutrients.

So are you talking about Ibogaine? I have heard wonders about that. Unfortunately I do or did not have access to it. It’s crazy how in America we treat opiate addiction with more opiates! So bizarre. Right now I am doing great, but there is always that chance of relapse. Are you on Discord?

Well, I work with Yopo, Ayahuasca, Jurema and DMT. But I have heard amazing things about Ibogaine. I would reccomend looking a bit harder, I know that the legality is sketchy but there a lot of serious facilitators working in the background.
In not, you can make your own medicine. My discord user is Acurewa#1730

7 more days of nothing but water to flush them... yield.. 4.20 oz

That's a nice looking plant bro 👍👍

Thanks a lot Dave!! This comment alone was worth putting the post up.

So 7 days huh? I was thinking maybe 2 weeks, and someone on instagram told me 30 days. I’ll put it under microscope tonight and see what the trichomes look like. I know for sure I am waiting till all those white pistols are gone.

Yeah 7 days looks right.. I like there too be about 20% white pistols when I harvested..

I'm impressed and still learning
thx

Hell yeah man that’s what it’s all about. This is why it’s important that all the growers on the platform come together and post our fries, and check out each other’s. One we may learn something, two maybe we can also teach. Hopefully one day there will be many! Thanks for checking my post out man!
