Well, every card ads up a little bit... ;)
And I agree, cards that have both, skill and fans are good to go... Especially in the beginning as people do struggle with EGO...

Yes, I have just recovered from a SERIOUS bout with EGO (adding one card caused me to jump to over 30%). It took me multiple days of Music Lessons to recover from that one.
