Never again, after our exalted Gotama has become one with the Nirvana, never since then have I met a person of whom I felt: this is a holy man! And here we have the final chapter. It ends with Siddhartha explaining his thoughts and words to Govinda, his best friend from childhood. Siddhartha tries to explain to Govinda what he has come to realise about life and his and everyone's journey on earth.

Siddhartha is a novel by Hermann Hesse. The original version written in German was published in 1922. I am reading the translated version, which you can find on The Gutenberg Project. The novel falls under the philosophical fiction genre. It is the story of Siddhartha who goes on a spiritual journey of self-discovery.
