My Crazy Plan

in DTubelast year

Just chatting about why I am leaving the lake house in Michigan and moving into a smaller, non lake place in Virginia. Might be good for inducing sleep :)

You always said you do things the hard way. You have obviously thought about it a lot and have all those pieces moving in the direction you want them to. I know that you poke a little fun at the halfway house, but, in fact, it is perfect for what you bought it for.

I know a lot is sitting on the sale of your current lake house and I am sure by the time you put it up for sale, it will sell well. It will be almost brand new by the time you finish with it. You are doing it the way it works for you, and if it doesn't sound crazy to you, then it is not crazy. It seems to be working okay so far, right? It might have been cheaper to build a warehouse to store your things. Storage is so expensive here! They have you fill them up and then a year later, raise your rates. Here, anyway.

It has finally become a reality! It is going to be a good move and I am sure you will be enjoying your life down there in no time!

I am a little excited at the thoughts of planning a new house. Of course, you are going to take us all with you through the process, right?

Oh you are right! I didnt think about building a warehouse! I sure like the way you think and you are full of good ideas!

I can make crazy plans like this in the future.

I have to say that the first time I heard you say you were buying a house to live in between the move from one place to another, I thought.....what ? Never heard of such a thing. Sure, I had heard of folks renting when moving a long distance while they shopped for a home to buy in their new area. I do guess it depends on how long a person would need to live in a "halfway" house before buying though. If only a few months, it wouldn't seem to make sense, but for an unknown extended time, I do guess it does. It also makes sense to live near where you are going to build especially if you are going to do a lot of the work yourself and to keep an eye on whoever is doing the things you won't be doing yourself.

Sounds like quite the undertaking. Just moving from one place to another without all that extra is quite a chore in itself. I don't envy you the process, but I know when it is done you will be very happy on the new lake.

Fingers crossed, Paul, for a quick and fortuitous sale. Yes, a home tends to sell better with less in it. Moving is a lot of work. But keep in mind how great it is going feel when you have your dream hope built. You gotta keep the goal in mind. Rocky Mount sounds like a wonderful place. Lots of shopping. With Ben nearby; that will be nice. But you will miss Michigan. That can't be avoided. Enjoy this Christmas.
