I am being forced by Cricket Wireless to upgrade our Samsung S8 phone. So here is the basic question: Apple or Android? Go!

I have been told that US Cellular has the best coverage and Verizon is spotty. That was earlier this year, so they could have put up new towers.

I honestly think picking a carrier is going to be a crapshoot. :(

I personally think the kids will go for an Apple, and, you will probably follow suit.

Verizon was best in north east for years and I think many just remember that and never change even though it’s no longer case. Although Verizon is pretty solid for north east still it’s certainly no longer alone at top. I hear it sucks in much of the nation.

I have a privacy phone myself besides my main Apple phone. https://noagendaphone.com/

I actually went from Sprint to Metro PCS. I was paying an exorbitant amout for 4 phones, and Metro was $25 out the door. It works great in South America, Europe and the Islands using voice over ip... so, it worked for me. Now everyone has competitive rates so, it is just what works best.

My sister in Bethel has terrible service with Verizon, but keeps it. What? Lol

Usually it was the manufacturer that would stop supporting your phone 2 years and a month after release, but now the service provider, too?!
For me Apple is a no-go, but most android phones (especially Samsung) copy the crap Apple does anyways, so it's probably not a huge difference.
Most people I know that bought Iphones went ahead and bought everything from Apple after a few months, because the stuff only worked well inside their ecosystem. Keep that in mind, if you are not already an Apple user.

I know that Apple used to be very good about keeping older devices updated.

To me Apple always seemed to have a slightly higher price. Like brand name advantage but perhaps not as much these days.

They certainly have the benefit of a managable amount of devices, which helps keeping software updated and working compared to the millions of Windows and Androids out there. That's why professional Apple users buy the 10 year old stuff, as their software and 3rd party devices are still supported and they don't want to deal with the drawbacks that come with newer devices.
How much that is true for the phones departement, I can't tell.

Android on T-mobile..

I have a Apple phone also but keep a privacy phone. The way things are going 🤷🏼‍♂️ can’t hurt

I looked into that NA phone.. I actually have a extra unlocked phone but after barely reading those instructions I gave up. That's way too complicated for my skills..

SAMSUNG EVERY TIME. PFFFFT TO APPLE haha

Lol I thought you might be a Apple girl!!! 😄

Nooo never, hubby and my daughter swear by Apple I don't like them Samsung are so much better.

Both options for a phone are pretty dang good if you ask me, but personally I would go with the Apple iPhone 13 (Or older/pre-owned) over the android. Overall I feel like the interface is easier to understand and Apple's ease of access to apps and alike is unbeatable. However, this is coming from a 20 year old tech nerd, a completely new OS may be harder to get used to for you (IDK how techy you are).

As I know you take many pictures, I have watched a video and it had declared the Samsung was better, but not by much based on color recreation and sharpness. However, Apple is a formidable opponent and both do amazing.

Even better, if you take tons of pictures or download lots of apps, apple (IMO) has the better storage system, good chance you wont deal with storage insufficiency for a good 1-2 years after first use of the phone.

At the end of the day, both are amazing options so go with what feels best for you. Good luck on your hard decision 👌
