Trap Fails
One of the things we've been doing a lot of lately is some good fishing. This usually involves buying bait since that gives us the best chance of catching things. What I've been trying to do since we started buying shiners is figure out a way to catch our own bait so that we don't have to buy it. It doesn't cost a whole lot but the stuff does add up after a while!
I decided to buy some commercial traps and try my hand at doing it that way. I've read a lot of stuff online and people are able to grab some good bait from doing it this way so I've been giving it a try. Every trick in the little book so-to-speak has been tested but we've returned squat!
The other day I got another trap from my dad that he had so we put out two of them and I was hoping for some success. We did get some success, I suppose. Just not the success I wanted! We finally caught a fish, except that it was the wrong kind of fish lol. I can't catch most bass with a sunfish like this so that was annoying. At least we caught something, but it just wasn't the one I was looking to catch.
Back to the drawing board for this one! I'm hoping we can figure out what we can do to catch the things. We see them all over the place when we are on the dock and the shore so we have to be able to catch them. How we catch them though, is what I'm trying to figure out!
