Hi fellow Ranters,

We got a nice reprieve from the heat with an awesome thunderstorm!

Washed Out

The heat has been pretty intense around here lately, not usually this hot in early June. I don’t buy the climate agenda so I’m not going down that direction but it’s been nice to visit the beach and spend time outside when it’s nice and warm. Can’t spend too long though otherwise you get heat stroke!

With such intense heat and humidity though comes the chance of getting some storms! Thunderstorms are my favorite. The lightning and thunder in them are awesome to watch and listen to. I love getting the huge cracks of thunder that shake the whole house!

The most recent thunderstorm we got dropped 2 inches of rain in about an hour it was intense! There was quite a bit of rain and wind that came along and it thankfully did some good work to fill up the rivers and bodies of water around so that we can reduce the drought issues that could arise, though we have gotten an average amount of rain so it’s not too bad.

With the storms though comes the inevitable downed trees! We are pretty lucky where we live, we get a dual power feed for our area. The power comes from two streets and when one gets knocked out, the other is usually strong enough to take over the load so that we don’t lose power. The people in the neighboring houses though weren’t so lucky! It knocked out power for about an hour with this giant tree falling on the power line. I’m actually surprised that more haven’t done it, if you can see in the picture those trees on the left are hanging over the street at crazy angles! I don’t know how the hell they are staying upright, they are like that in the snow as well!

Thankfully no one got hurt with the tree or the thunderstorm so it was an enjoyable experience!

That wasn't very ranty.

LA County has a redundant system. There's always two lines of travel. The popular reason is in case something fails on one but the main reason is for maintenance purposes. Lines can be updated and repaired regularly without anyone losing their hairdryer.

Enjoy your weekend dude.

Yeah that’s a good idea, I heard that lots of places still have blackouts in LA though lol

Thanks man, going fishing right now, waiting for the wife to get a drink. Hoping to catch something, bad streak lately lol

Blackouts, yeah. But not due to lack of power.

I've energized more joints than I can remember in my career dude. Blackouts are never due to a lack of energy, they're due to politics.

Nice day ahead of you.

I’ll trust you on it since you lived there, way better knowledge than I! I read it here and there so I was assuming that’s how it was. I’ve actually never been west of Las Vegas before, even that was only for 72 hours lol

Oh crap dude. I lived in Vegas in '08 and again in '11. Probably best we just keep talking about them lil fishies.

Lol I wasn’t a fan of Vegas. It was interesting but I need to be near the water!

We're having a tough time with that right now too. We're both from the coast so no seafood is absurd to us but Mornal here. They try to tell me where good seafood is like 'wait, you don't know wtf seafood even is, you're disqualified from giving me your opinion.'

There's things we want to do that'll take at least 5 years to get off the ground and land rates here in Tennessee are just too cheap to pass up.

Hopefully, you were not fishing in the Federally protected watering holes/ springs 70 miles west of Vegas that are housing the rare and endangered silver state pup fish 😄 pretty much any desert environment in Nevada is federally protected or a protected area for corporations and goberments like Tesla and Dept of Energy to dump their lithium or radiation waste. Which by the way makes our water ways, dusty soils and wildlife highly contaminated.
