First, I should be honest and admit I’m very fortunate. I have a good job in today’s world and economy and was lucky enough to be able to make a change when I needed it most. Yet for whatever reason, my previous employment history continues to haunt me. I wake up in the middle of the night dreaming about the people I used to work with; I wake up sweating and pissed off, and then can’t get back to sleep. It’s highly irritating, almost maddening…so what do I think is causing the frustration? Some history to share with you (and yeah, it’s so damn cliché!)

that's shitty mate, glad you could see it coming at least & find a new job, even if it's not quite ideal, seems like it would have been worse for your mental health if you had to stay. i don't think it's worth it to work for people who don't care for you, peace of mind is better than money ime. peace of mind can take time to come but it will. for sleep issues, i've dealt with them for most of my life, even before i developed a heavy caffeine addiction, and i really like the military method for it. not sure where i first read it since i don't have the book but this is a good link military method, altho it can take some practice. meditation can also help overall, since i started meditating, getting into the mindset for the military method & the visualization required has gotten easier. i don't have a lot of info i prefer on meditation though, just picked up a lot from different places.

Ah that’s definitely some bullshit man. My wife went through some similar stuff although not as long term. She’s in accounting as well, though a different branch of it all.
She landed a fantastic job with the state doing some really awesome stuff that she was super passionate about. She dreamed of working for the SEC or FBI one day and was on the path to doing that with this job. Then she got some fucktard boss that was a typical state employee asshole. The new boss worked for one branch before she destroyed the office she “left” from (reassigned, because you can’t just let a shitty state employee go, they protect the assholes pensions more than their employees from shitty people, don’t get me started on this one! If you suck this bad you deserve to lose your pension without a doubt!) her previous place and started at my wife’s office as the new manager, a job my wife applied for and was exceptionally qualified for except to the state, ageism is a huge factor. She had the right knowledge, experience and degrees to do it and had the support of the whole office in her short tenure there. The only thing she didn’t have was her age. They even told her! Off the record of course but it was ludicrous.
Nope, state doesn’t care. They bring in this asshole and she instantly doesn’t like my wife because my wife is smarter than her and everyone likes her more so naturally she’s a target of the beast. The woman didn’t even have a finance degree at all! She was in charge of financial stuff. It was ludicrous to say the least.
Long story short, my wife ended up leaving the job and tried to get the state to see how toxic of a person she was, had ample written and corroborated evidence but nope, politics matters more than anything with those assholes. She’s completely turned her back on the whole atmosphere and has no intentions of ever trying to work for the state or government again. They don’t want to do anything except coast and steal our money, no joke whatsoever. It’s disgusting. The woman still works there and has since installed a couple doofus employees under her that know jack squat about what they are doing or looking at. Their qualities? They are “yes” people. Ah got fired up before bed lol.
My wife had nightmares for years about it, I would say only about a year or two ago did she stop. She still occasionally has one or two here and there, it’s terrible.
One of her best things was seeing a therapist to talk about it. Get it off her chest and out in the open. It helped after a while, hurt a lot doing the sessions but has helped tremendously.
Man, that is awful. It sucks that people like that are protected. The person I was referring to is similar to that lady...if you are "yes" person, you get to be in the club. If you challenge that person, you are "problem" and not a "loyalist." The whole thing is stupid. I honestly hope this individual runs out of rope, but I'm pretty sure they will still be fine and move on to some other company to ruin.
When you wake up dreaming just think how glad you can be to have left...and then it gets better with time. Subconsciousness can't be tricked ;).

Dude, that blows. I had absolutely no idea that you had to go through that. It's great that you got out! Maybe some of the ghosts of the old place will tire of the new bs, too, and come looking for you.
Thanks! Yeah it was really an awful two years there - the saving grace for part of it was that I was able to work from home and avoid the BS, but they of course made the accountants come back first and it was downhill from there.
Some tough situation there bro, you look at this and tell yourself life sucks but on the bright side life is good.
We get these kind of people that wants to have it all at the expense of the other person, it doesn't matter how much they trample on the next person or people they just want success at all cost.
We all want to be successful and so do we choose different ways of achieving that success.
Is screwing you up to get to where I want the best option or let's get to the top together the best, again it boils than to every individual.
But at the end of the day we all go back in the box just like every chess piece, kings, queens, pawns all ends up in the box after the game.

Am grateful for the job but not really working in my favor, I put in about 14-15 hours per day which leaves me completely exhausted, almost no time for Hive it's currently 23:18 here and am stuck on Splinterlands trying to complete my quest before sleeping.
I might have to opt for other options, my crypto investment are priority to me.
lol, I know that feeling with that game! I was so damn close to getting to Gold I this week, and 2 mobililty Earth thief knocked out my 7 mobility Fire sparkles...friggin' frustrating!!!
Yeah that is no good - 14-15 hours is a lot. How nice would it be to live off of crypto? I think we're getting close, personally, to that becoming a reality.

Nice will be an understatement! We are getting close and with Hive's current performance it just makes it more hopeful.
Maybe 2-3 more years for me then I could be looking at living off crypto there's a lot of stakes to build for me now.

I do sympathise with you. I loved my job, but then a new CEO took over. I ended up taking redundancy in the end because it really was a sinking ship. I'm glad I did, as a few years later the organisation was closed by its funders and the staff had to really fight for their redundancy money.
I'm not a great sleeper, purely because I'm not always tired! The work stuff I let go of because I always feel it's just a stepping stone to better things. I hope you find some peace but perhaps you just have to get through the anger, mourning phase first. ❤
