Yes, it's not the dessert kind of carrot cake. Although we called it carrot, technically it is made from radish which we refer to as white carrot. so, therefore, called carrot cake. Oyster omelette is quite sinful so I have it moderately.
Some dimsum place have the carrot cake/radish cake in different form. As for recipe, try search like this.
Well, I hope your father-in-law's appointment went well and he is still doing okay with his recovery. That is a very modern, large hospital, isn't it? How many hospitals does Singapore have? Do most of the doctors have their offices at the hospitals? That seems rather convenient. The place you passed looked pretty nice at the food court. What made you change your mind about eating there? Does Lorong 8 Toa Payoh have better food?
You got a girl delivery person this time. You never get a girl, we must be looking up! :) It is nice to see them giving coupons to people to encourage boosting the economy. I am all for free delivery! Take out with delivery seems to cost more everywhere. They give you free deliver and make you feel like you got a deal. :) They seem to all do it!
The kway teow didn't look too greasy. Did you put that over rice? I will pass on the oyster omelet. The place I go to doesn't make them well, or I don't like the way they make them. The dessert looked good. All in all, a pretty decent lunch. Thanks for taking us along with you on your adventurous day!

Father in law needs to go back for a scan next month. The private doc was getting him scan after 2 weeks for the pass month. I lost count of how many hospitals there are but we have more than a few public hospitals and more private ones too. The doctor for public hospitals will station in there but private doctors do have their clinic outside the hospital they served. The hospital food court is not favour mostly. Lorong 8 food courts is one of the better options near home. I'd prefer to eat there than bringing back. All the 3 food are bit oily but shared among 4 people is probably not as bad. Don't need to have rice as the kuay teow is kind of noodle. So, there's carbo in there and the fried carrot cake.

Yes, it's kind of. They cut it to smaller bits and fried with eggs for the white version and dark sweet sauce for the black version.
Wa - all three dishes, very oily. Maybe should get something not so oily for your father-in-law. :-)
