Hey lovelies 😍
It's your favorite girl @debbie-ese ❤️
Welcome to my blog🤗
Food is one of the basic human needs apart from water, shelter, air and of course health care. The survival of man can be quite difficult in the absence of food. The production of food is hinged on some factors which include good seeds, good soil and adequate water (rain, irrigation or wetting of the plants with water). If the factors mentioned above are missing during a planting season the harvest may not be bountiful.
Lately, I have observed that there are more food items in the market than it was about 2 - 3 months ago. One reason that I can link with the abundance of fresh food items is the result of the heavy rainfall that has been constant for some time now. We have two major seasons in Nigeria and it is the dry season and raining season. The third one is Harmattan season which is also intertwined with the dry season.
During the dry season, there always lack of rain and the soil is very hard. It takes more hardwork to be able to produce crops during this season. The farmers have to fetch water from nearby streams to wet the crops or make use of pumping machines with hose to make the soil moist. This is additional expenses during this time.
The abundance of rain has made farming easy at this time and you'd see the result everywhere with so many seasonal crops and fruits available and also fresh farm produce in market for sale and for consumption for subsistence farmers.

The extra rainfall has been a real bonus for so many! I am so glad to see that it did so well there too! The abundance of crops is awesome! Do you do any canning or just eat them as they are ripened? Because my growing season is so short, I have to can some so that I can have fresh vegetable and fruits all winter. Thank you for showing off your market!

There are vegetables and fruits all year here just that some are seasonal. So, we really don't need to preserve (I think that's what caning means). We store yams in barns so as to extend their shelve life and other fruits are available all through the year just that it may be more expensive at some point.
Thank you for your time.
