Market Friday: The Bid

in Market Friday2 years ago

Welcome to #MarketFriday by @dswigle!! If you remember last week, I was on another house-hunting trip and I took all of you with me. You know how I love to do that, wherever I go, whatever I do. You are all such good sports too. Tell the truth! You love it when we go off script and do something different, don't you? We went househunting! Are you ready to hear how it went? Have you got your vote locked in on how it went?

You remember the view? One of, anyway. It has spectacular views, and a long, long driveway. I won't post it again. If you missed it, you can see it here! There were 4-5 bedrooms and many rooms for multi-use, office, library and things like that. It had an elevator. It has everything. It even had secret doors. Truly. It had it all. It was more than I dreamed was possible within a certain budget. It had land to put in a garden and a barn to put the horses. Fields for them to graze that had been specially seeded for that. Forest to wander. Privacy. Did it have it all? I think so. Did I get the bid?

Today is #MarketFriday initiated by @dswigle (Denise, that's me!!) Join me as we share our markets across the globe. I always look forward to seeing what you send me! It is amazing to see the different markets and cultures of our friends here on Hive.

Did I say it had great forests? It did. Flowers and fauna and fungus! I don't have any fungus where I live now, so that excited me more than a little. Do you have fungus where you live?

I went back to the house four times over the last week, weighing the pros and cons of the house. I know, it's perfect, but, what you don't know is that it is in a very small town. I never heard of it and I needed a GPS to get there. I have been living right outside of Washington, DC for a little bit and I am used to walking to get what I need, or taking a quick trip on a bike or car. Whichever meets my needs that day. Being out there is wonderful, but, it could hinder my existence. Okay, I am really exaggerating. It might take some getting used to. Want to see that road again?

20220615_163258.jpg

Speaking of the road, I brought someone with me to check out getting the road repaired. Expensive! Doable, but, definitely something that I pushed over onto the con side. I was fair. I showed you the part that needs some repair/redoing. I finally measured it out. It is only one-half mile, but, that is a lot of feet to repair.

It has a tall flagpole, so I could show off my American-ness to all... Perhaps when we do something good again. We are in a bit of a slump right now. Not to say that I am not proud to be American, but just right now is a bit challenging. But, we can be all that once again.

The house has some foundational cracking. It was deemed not structural by an engineer friend, but, that was just a cursory look. An inspection was needed. The floors were wood in the entire house, but (Forgive me for saying this) I am wondering why they put a different floor in each room? Individually, they were gorgeous. Altogether, a nightmare. Cost to redo all floors? Over $50,000! Yikes! All the appliances needed to be replaced/updated. The roof was going to need to be replaced soon. The inside need to be painted. The outside need to be painted.

IMG_5000.JPG

Forest to be hiked. So many bonuses to the package, but here is the story. I put my bid in. On Tuesday, the day of the decision, they called and told me that the extra land that I wanted (the offered up extra land) was not going to be accepted because they wanted to add it to another piece of land to make it more sellable. Without that land, it defeated the purpose of my wanting it. That is a story for a different post. The inspection I wanted to have done made my bid less desirable as they wanted to get it sold so the heirs could receive their inheritance. I don't buy major pieces of real estate without an inspection. This was a hard no. Nothing else mattered. If there was structural damage, foundation damage, basically anything wrong with the house, I was out of luck. I was already thinking that the basic needs were too far and a real hospital was not close enough for me. While I don't have any medical issues, anyone can pop up with one.

I will say that I will not fight for a piece of real estate. If the universe doesn't give it freely, it wasn't meant to be. I swear by that. I was feeling a little unsure with a few little things that were popping up, but, if I have to fight really hard for it, you can be sure I may get stuck in some way. I thought it spoke to me, but I guess it wasn't me those words were for. Sometimes, you can be mistaken. :) While I am a little sad that it didn't work out the way I wanted, I am happy that there are plenty of opportunities in the market right now. If I wait a few more months, it will be even better.

beach.jpg

Besides, I might miss the beach. What do you think? Would you have forgone an inspection? Or would you have trusted your gut? Do you think I did the right thing? The other 3 people that were beak to beak with my bid also dropped out, leaving a weaker bid to stand. I don't think they accepted the lower bid, so the house will probably be back on the market. (unless they take the lower bid, which I am pretty sure they won't) I guess I could take it, but I feel like that ship has sailed.

20190911_124735.jpg

So, I will just enjoy the beach a little bit today as I head out to the Shore House for a little unwinding. I hear that grass has been growing out there and there are crabs just waiting for me to throw a trap in the water. A few crabs, some wine, and perhaps some fish. That's what I am talking about.

Please leave the link to your post here so it can easily be found by others. It helps you and me to have them in one place. Where else can you take such a quick trip around the globe? Thank you so much for joining us!! ❤

As always, there must be flowers to color my world. #alwaysaflower. A little wine, a pretty flower, and the peace of the night. I cannot think of a better way to spend it - at the moment. I hope you are having a great day too!

Next week: If I came to visit you in your town, where would you take me? Would I take a walk in the town and learn about a new culture? Would we cook something to eat that I would never have at my home? Would you show off your architecture? What would we do? I have two days!

Well I guess I didnt think the road looked bad to me. I lived on a half mile private road for over a decade. Most I spent was $500 bucks for Butch to dump some fresh gravel every four or five years.

The roof was going to be an expected expense. The money saved on boarding would have covered the roof expense over time :)

I think it had enormous potential. Look at those views! Only thing it was missing was a lake!

You probably missed the part where I corrected myself and said the road was okay. It was determined that they didn't get enough snow to worry about it.

Yes, the roof was going to be an expected expense. The money saved on boarding? Not my horses. ;) So, it won't cover the roof, no matter how much time I give it.

I think it had enormous potential. Look at those views!

If you send me your DM, I can pass you the address! No lake, but lots of privacy!

Thanks for visiting #MarketFriday! :)

A fabulous house! I can't give advice or an opinion because I've always bought only what I liked, without the necessary checks. Sometimes fate protected me, sometimes nothing protected me and I was wrong.
I can't say an opinion because, first of all, the reason why you want to buy another house matters and I don't know this reason. If it were only for the pleasure of living in the middle of nature, with woods and fields of my own and my horses, I would buy immediately.
Again, I don't know what the purpose of this purchase would be, I don't know if others living with you would be happy, etc...

On the other hand, it seems pretty isolated from the world. I understand you've decided not to buy. You know best what's right. You need to do more research, you need to try to intuit where our world is going now if these crises are going to continue. There are so many unknowns that I think it's hard to make a very well-calculated decision, and then you go with your intuition or fear of the unknown.

I understand you're not proud to be an American now. I would love to find out when you were proud and then perhaps I will get to know you better. In this political part, I haven't been able to make up my mind about you, I don't know if we are matching here.

Last week I didn't manage to read your post, because of my vacation, and now I'm glad I did. Today I read both your posts and understood better what was going on.

I wrote my post this morning but still don't have the link because I haven't posted it yet. I don't know what time of day is best to post, just so I know that maybe you and the few other friends who read me might read it. I think I'll post in about three hours and see if I've done well. I'll add the link then.

I really liked what you wrote here. I understood once again the difference between our European and American cultures. Thank you, Denise!

There will be my family of four living there. So, I will not be alone. I don't think anyone should live in the middle of nowhere alone. That is just me, but, also things can happen when you are alone. It can happen to anyone. Leaving the workforce is something I have been looking to do for a few years now. Not retiring, but leaving the door open to return if I chose. It is the right time for me and I have the financial ability to do so. I know how lucky that is, I don't throw it out there as a bragging right. Because I am not in a rush to move (I do love my house, but I no longer want to live so close to downtown Washington, DC), I have time on my hand and will look more at the options open to me. I like the fairly low taxes around here with all the advantages of having beaches and mountains, vineyards, and horse country filled with the history and the beginnings of our country. It is a wonderful State.

Anyway, back at the house inspection. My father always told me to never buy a house without an inspection. The houses in Romania are older and better built with being around forever. These houses aren't that old. The country isn't that old. They build differently. I love European buildings and their techniques. I have always had an inspection, but, because the market is so good here, they want a quick sale (for inheritance) and an inspection would drag it longer. My money says that is a hard NO then. I am okay to walk away as there is always going to be another house and property. If I cannot own it, there are many parks here that you can visit. I won't fight hard for something that is not meant to be.

I am glad you got to read both posts, otherwise, this one doesn't really make sense. I knew you probably wouldn't get a chance to read it. You were on vacation!!! You were supposed to vacation! :))

It is a seller's market right now and the market is beginning to fall, so I will wait for the buys market when prices will probably go down. The prices are overinflated right now. We can only try to guess what this all means, my guess is as good as yours, but politics have changed so much in the last few years. Who really knows, yes?

Not to say that I am not proud to be American, but just right now is a bit challenging. But, we can be all that once again.

I didn't mean to imply I wasn't proud to be American, I will always be proud of that, just now is a little more challenging to be all that. Hopefully, we will become what we once were.

I understood once again the difference between our European and American cultures.

How is that? I hope it wasn't offensive!

Thanks always, Dan @bluemoon

#MarketFriday loves you!

I didn't even think you'd be alone. I meant the house is insulated, as I understood from your photos.

Now I understand why you want to move. If you can financially afford it and want it, that's perfect. It's good to wait for the best time, the best price, the best quality if nothing pressures you. Everything is very clear now.

Hopefully, we will become what we once were.

Of course, you're a patriot, you've proven it in all your writings. I was a little surprised when I read what you wrote now, and I understand that you are unhappy with what is now in America. My curiosity was to know when, in what period (5 years ago, 15 years ago, a hundred years ago) was America producing the most patriotism, in your opinion?

On vacation, I was only 4 days last week. I've already written three times about where I went.

I hope you don't think I'm offending you! I think I chose the word "culture" wrong. I meant to refer to the fact that the way they live, build or trade houses is different in America compared to Europe. The large space between houses leaves the impression of isolation... I'm referring to what I've seen in movies. Lots of isolated houses on a vast field or in a forest place where I couldn't live.
That's what I meant, and I still want to wish you house hunting good luck in the future, but first, have a nice weekend!

Dan, @bluemoon I trade houses because of the job and being transferred. I moved to this house, knowing I was going to be moving again. I did not, in a big part budget and covid. Europe has less land per person available.

Virginia is approximately 102,548 sq km, while Romania is approximately 238,391 sq km, making Romania 132% larger than Virginia. Meanwhile, the population of Virginia is ~8.0 million people (13.3 million more people live in Romania).

We just have more land to spare, that is all. That is true of most of Europe. Most neighborhoods are built with high-density housing, the house is close together and the yards are small. If you are fortunate, you can build your house with a little more land. Especially where I chose, in wine country where the estates have hundreds of acres. It is like that there too. Those are movies and most Americans don't live that way, but, instead of isolated looking, most are peaceful retreats. I have a huge family, so the house is never empty or deserted. :) The house in Washington, DC area has a small yard. All the houses on the shore are a few acres, but, they are sweeping lawns and nice gardens. Not too much land. And this that I was looking at was adjoining many farms, so yes, spread out for food. :) You just see the crop rotation going on. No crops there this year, it is their year off.

I will go back to catch those posts, I was mostly going back and forth to the house last week and dealing with the pipe that burst and the flood. Yikes. Life. You know.

Most patriotic? Hmmm I don't have time to analyze it, but, I have always felt that there were two major times that the patriotism shone through.

One was during 9/11 and for years after, it was very, very strong. I was living on a military base at the time and honestly, it was the worst of times and the best of times. If I left the base, it took me hours to get permission to get off and more hours to get back on with all the checking going on.

It has honestly never been the same since.

The other time would have to be during WWII The World banded together and everyone here was involved. I think every man here (no women to speak of) had something in common and that built a comradeship, in my opinion. No matter where you went, everyone supported (willingly) their country, unlike other times. Not being alive then, I am only going on stories from my grandparents and what I read. The other, I lived it.

I think I can guess Romania! :)

Everything has a cause, doesn't it @dswigle? I suspected something was pushing you to move. I sincerely hope you find the best option for your future home!

Obviously, America is so great! Classic American cars, how big they were compared to European ones. Not to mention the houses. I see what you're saying, and it's just as I imagined.

All this talk about patriotism. I know you're patriotic, more patriotic than me, I am more moderate. Especially since patriotism is a weapon used in different ways and purposes sometimes. I was actually interested in finding out what you want for America in the future, and what you hope will happen in the next election. I wanted to know how Americans think now. Will they leave us? Because an American withdrawal from Europe will mean, at least for Eastern Europe where I live, a big Russian risk.

I see you are very busy now. I wish you to get over this less pleasant and tiring time as soon as possible!

Obviously, America is so great! Classic American cars, how big they were compared to European ones.

I think you thought this was meant for Europe. It is not, I was describing how although we have more land, most neighborhoods are built with high-density housing, the houses are close together and the yards are small. If you are fortunate, you can build your house with a little more land. That is true of the US (also many parts of Europe) As for the big cars and houses, it is mostly about the cheaper cost to build here and more land. I actually never thought bigger/better. All one has to do is step inside some of these houses built centuries ago - the apparent beauty of how things were built years ago. You know I have always been in love with Europe and its superior craftsmanship and attention to detail.

Oh, you are so right about patriotism being used as a weapon. Look at us! shakes head That is why I am disheartened. Enough said about such depressing things. Will we leave you? If you look, the places they leave are places that they are no longer wanted or needed. I took out a lot of what I wrote because it may be misunderstood - not by you, but, by others reading. I can see what a withdrawal will mean. Nobody wants to go back to those times.

I am busy, but, I always have time for people. I just get around less than I already was! :)

Thanks, Dan! @bluemoon! I hope you are having a great day! My workers started on the house today! Finally...

I am busy, but, I always have time for people.

Oh, how nice! It's been a long time since I read something so beautiful...
I hope the repair goes quickly. I want to see a holiday from you too. That's what I wish for you now!

ohhhhhh nope nope nope. inspection! hehehe it's a must! you were absolutely right.

I'm sorry that you didn't get that house! because it surely was beautiful! the property - the home - all of it. just gorgeous!

But you're right, when some things don't work out - we have to just simply be thankful for God handling the things we didn't see!

Something just right for you - will come up. or.... who knows? maybe they do contact you with the right arrangment? I know - you feel the ship has sailed- but sometimes it comes back for another journey h ehehehehe

we will see! Either way - i hope you find the house that makes your heart sing!!!!

love this - thank you for sharing this with us - hehehe it's fun to see the world through your eyes, and step in your shoes for just a moment's meeting on a post! hehehe

and here is my link (even though already went there! ehehe i'll just follow the rules, my dear! hehehehe)

https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@dreemsteem/thank-you-for-a-great-month-market-friday-celebrating-our-birthday-with-you

I was initially sorry I didn't push through and go with their way, but, it wouldn't have worked for me. I have a bigger dream for it and anything less wouldn't have worked. I have turned back better houses, but the land was premium.

But, I know we are both right and it has to be the one to make my heart sing. It will happen. I rarely go long without a song. Do you know what I mean?

It is fun to share a piece of life. :) I have been back over to your place a couple of times to raid the kitchen. I hope you don't mind. You weren't here and so... well, you know the story. I quietly made my own.

Only because you are closed on the weekends!

I can never get away from Saturdays! The Markets are still pumping out and will even tomorrow and MONDAY. It is almost cute when they say, I know it is #MarketFriday, but, my market is on Monday.

Thanks for stopping by and for dropping your link!!!

Anywho! Love to you and you know that @MarketFriday loves you!

!LUV

hehehe yes - i know what you mean! gotta have that "song". It's so necessary!!!

and i also know what you mean about the weekend! hehehe

It's hard when we are a global community! hehehe and people just want to join in the fun! and you are a hostess that is gracious and warm and i know your heart to keep things supported and "heard" - know what i mean? yes you do. hehehehe

it can get to be a lot. this week was so full, and so good. but then there were also some things that were really draining and really aggressively taxing.

so - from one "singer" to another. You're appreciated! You bring you, and lots of times, people probably don't see beyond what they see.

But there is so much that singers hide. hehehe The smile shines brighter, and is easy to distract anyone from the other stuff.

just want you to know! feel this hug, and carry on, sister singer!

A big "no" for me as well, Denise.
❎ 🏠 ❎

As soon as you started to talk about $50K+ to redo the wooden flooring to match throughout the home, a roof replaced, costly appliances, paint the inside and outside, fix the road I was done. Too many expenses even before you had an official inspection that always finds issues.🔦👷‍♂️🛠

Always go with your gut instinct and listen to the voice in your head that tells you when something is off. When it's right you will know with all of your heart @dswigle

Your next house is out there waiting to be found! Enjoy the summer with your kids before they are off to school again. Are any of them going away to college yet? ☀️🔆😎

Thanks for the token @ninahaskin !

I knew these things going in and took it off the asking price. I just believe that if you are going to trade a really nice new house for another, it should be just as nice to live in, unless financial standing has changed and then, all bets are off. You do what you need to.

I really do go with my gut, and there is a big part of me that wanted to make this house mine, but, the inspection was a must. I am not being pushed out of this house, it is I who wants to be a little further from the city. It will happen. I am definitely not in any rush and the real estate market only gets better and better to buy in as the time goes on. Not a great thing economically, but that is the way it is sliding. Thanks for the words, Nina! @ninahaskin!

You're welcome, Denise! ♥️♥️♥️

Thanks for the tipu!

I think you made the right choice an inspection is key, otherwise you never know what you may be getting yourself into
The right house will come up for you when you least expect it :)

Here is my post for this week https://peakd.com/hive-194913/@tattoodjay/market-friday-new-bedford-yacht-club

I know you are right and no inspection was a hard NO for me. Some people are doing these fast sales with no inspection but, that is just crazy, especially with the major money expected to be paid for everything. I am in no rush to move, the house I have is fine, but, the area is getting more and more congested during commuting hours (and beyond)

The right house will come up when you least expect it :)

I absolutely agree with you there and one of the reasons I will not fight buying this house. It is perfect in many ways, but, the drawbacks are worth pausing for.

Thanks so much, JJ @tattoodjay All in all, it is still a fun experience just to see what there is out there.

Thanks for being part of #MarketFriday and dropping the link!

Structural damage, quite an old homestead with road repairs required sounds like a pretty penny needs to be dropped into this to make it totally acceptable.

Perhaps buy large tract of land in area you desire, build with latest technology to go off grid avoiding later expenses, closer to amenities you mentioned are lacking in this location.

Would be a challenge you may find exceptionally rewarding.

!LUV

It actually was built in 1994, so not very old! The road is compacted of dirt with gravel. I don't like gravel roads if you have snow to plow. However, they got as much snow as I usually do, so the gravel would have been fine. It almost looks like asphalt, but, it wasn't.

I have been looking for a tract of land! For about two years. We are going the way you are it feels like and the more independent of utilities, the more appealing it is. (This house had solar) I am not needing huge amenities, but they need to be a tiny bit closer.

I can find land in the boondocks, far and away from life, but, I will find something in between the two. Too much traffic and people are moving closer and closer with more buildings going on. I remember loving the city and now I just want to run away from it, although I still like visiting it. I guess when I don't have to go there every day, the fun wore off. :)

I agree with you and I am up for the challenge! I am waiting for real estate to fall a little bit more. Thanks for stopping by and as always, the words of wisdom!

#MarketFriday loves you!

!LUV

House is not all that old, road would be an issue along with distance to medical facilities.

One has to weigh up options as to how happy you will be, especially considering you can see the development encroaching where you are now.

Decisions, decisions and loads of gut feel! 😅

We had a summer home up in the upper Peninsula of Michigan almost on the Canadian border. It was far and away from all but the sturdiest of people. :) I loved it and didn't mind the 30+ miles to town. Nothing was an emergency, there was nothing to get in a rush about. Just life and living. (that was short-lived!)

I can do it, for sure, but, there are comforts that I have grown accustomed to. You are right, I need to pick the options that I need and the rest will be fine. Thanks, Joan! @joanstewart

We really have to think carefully about where we settle as we grow older, some creature comforts necessary, people not so much.

Place up near Canadian border sounds like must have been an amazing place to spend some time living there.

You have already used the number of tips you had for the day. Please try again tomorrow or buy more LOH tokens to send more tips.

Looks like this house will bring you away from the city and closer to nature.
I'm still in the town getting my Indian food this time.
https://hive.blog/hive-105017/@ace108/marketfriday-vegetarian-biryani-at-brinda-s-video-or-brinda-s-by-ace108

I don't mind being away from the city, as a matter of fact, there are many things about the city that I miss when I am not there. It is just the politics right now are more than I want to watch.

What did you get for Indian food? I hope something good!

Thanks for joining the challenge and dropping your link!

Good day to you Denise 👋🏻☀️
So great reading the update.

I think you did the right thing, I would never buy a house without inspection.
You already saw so much needed updating, the road, the floors, the roof and all the paintwork. Yes of course you do calculate that into your bid… but still, they didn’t understand that you wanted to check it more. Crazy… nope that wouldn’t be my agent anymore either.

It is sad as it did have so much potential and many extras… but if you look at the entire picture. Calculating everything. Than it was a no go. Also the distance to healthcare etc.
you would have adjusted to that, being further away though from stores and everything… we always adjust to those things, and I can imagine you do too, as having moved around a lot too.

There will be always a next time. Especially now when the markets are coming down, more will be available for better prices. Now it is a sellers market, but that won’t be the case in a couple of months anymore… 🤩 so maybe better for us, the ones that want to buy something.

Good luck and happy searching further @dswigle 👋🏻😊🤗

I just posted my post for today:
“Market Friday” ~ Shops and artisan market in Málaga Spain 🇪🇸

Have a wonderful Friday 💃🏻😁☀️

I made the final decision for e the day before, so I thought I would just go ahead and wait plus so many people were waiting on it and it worked out better this way.

I know I did the right thing and sometimes it doesn't feel so great, but, it was only that the house had potential and even though it had things that needed to be done, I would have done it before moving in, so that would have been better. But... not this way. Because it is a seller's market, some people are foregoing an inspection! Isn't that crazy? It is to me. It was definitely a hard NO just for that. So much could go wrong. The house was not old, circa 1994 but still, the roof was going to need attention, etc.

The entire picture had doubts, yet there were lots of pluses. You have to be able to weigh the importance of each. I want to be able to walk in and not have to worry if I have made the right decision. I am also not in a rush and nothing is pushing me out of the house I am in. I love it, by the way, but, the city is pushing out more and more and it is getting busier here. The market is about to fall, I can see it coming. I think it will be better for both of us. In the meantime, we can enjoy zillow a bit.

Thanks for the good wishes, right back at you! Thanks for stopping by and for dropping the link!

Have a Fabulous Friday!

#MarketFriday loves you~

Perfect to wait and do it like this, as more were waiting 😎

I just don’t understand with buying a house, that people would do it without inspection… like you said a big no just for that already.
I know people do it all the time, most are fine and will deal with the things that do pop up. Most won’t though. With such an estate that large you were looking at… nope, better not.
It wasn’t that old indeed. But around 30 years, things do need to get replaced and done up. And it did look like it had not been done.

I understand… the city is pushing, and no rush for other things… and good to hear you are fine for now and still love your house.
If it is just a choice, you sure have time to find the “right” one. Walk in and say yes… with every grain of you, this was right. That’s what to look out for. All needs to fall into place.
Looking forward to future explorations and finds. You got me inspired there.

I sooo love Zillow, I get every day market reports new houses in my mail for the areas I follow. I save the ones that are interesting, just to see how the market is behaving, the kind of houses around there etc. I do like it too, as I had in the early 2000 my own real estate agency… hehe 😉 but yes, every country is different so the US will be a new experience real estate wise. But I won’t go blind in it though 🤓😎
There is some experience I can fall back onto.

You are so welcome Denise 👋🏻😁 thank you kindly 💃🏻☀️
Happy to be here!

It is true, I have no rush. It is not about work, it is not about play, but in the end all the needs will be met. :)

Besides, the thrill of the find is half the fun.

I know a lot of people are fine with no inspection. I see it every day, but, there is no need for me to go that route. I am glad you are having fun with Zillow. I found a European site similar to it and I look on it. :) It has been fun. Just to see what is out there. The experiences are different from country to country. Some, as Americans, don't allow the purchase of their real estate. Boo! Your Real Estate experience will be great to fall back on, nothing much in the big picture has changed, just the small details.

Yes! Everything needs to fall in place.

Thanks, Jackie! Always a pleasure!

Oh yes, the thrill of searching and finding is half the fun 🤩 I like it.

Every country has sides like Zillow and it is fun to check out even in other countries hehehe enjoy it 👋🏻😎
That’s great to hear not to much changed…

You are so so welcome Denise, likewise, always happy to chat 😉
Enjoy your afternoon 👋🏻

Will have to come up with something fun next week to take you along too 😉

I say that it wasn't meant to be so just move on :)
You know there was a house with many owners that we really wanted to buy and we kept trying for 2 years. It turned out to be too complicated and time consuming for both parties. One owner died during that time and when a second one got hospitalised with out a good prognosis, we took the message, it was time to look for something else!
I wish you'll find what's best for you :)

And here is this week's post from summerish Greece!

https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@fotostef/beach-mall

I agree!!! That is exactly how I feel! If it is too much trouble to make the right thing happen, the Universe is trying to tell you something. I got the message too! No inspection? A hard NO for me. So much can be wrong without actually showing signs.

Thank you, and I hope you find what is best for the two of you! Good luck!

I appreciate you dropping the link! :)

#MarketFriday loves you!

I feel it just like you. Sometimes I am too excited when I see something that I like at first sight. That's why all that is needed - inspection, advice of a friend, an oppinion of repair specialist.

My granny used to say - what you were destined will be yours. If there are some new details, especially in the last day, and no time to think, this is not a fair bid. You did the rifht thing, although I understand your sadness, it's like you were almost there, in your dream, and now it vanished. But this mrans that something much better is waiting for you ahead.

By the way, good point about hospitals and medical care. Once, my mom told be this, as a reason why she changed her mind about move to village house after retirement.

Hugs ang !luv

I totally agree with you. My want to live out further from the city has more to do with it being Washington, DC and many angry people descend on the city when life upsets them. I no longer want to be in the heart of it all. I want my family to live in safety, which can be taken from me in the blink of an eye. I realize this. I agree with your grandmother, you shouldn't have to fight that hard for a piece of real estate to be yours. (if you are buying it) If it is meant to be your destiny, it will happen. It wasn't meant to happen.

Not having time for an inspection? That is a definite NO. Every time. My father taught me better than that!

I do not have to leave my home here and I do love it, but, the area is also starting to grow even more and in thirty years, I don't want to have to fight the traffic. Better to make a life in a quieter place, far and away from the city. (Of course that could mean 5 miles!) As we age, we need more medical than when we are younger. You are not old and look! You needed medical. Easier from a more populated area. I feel the same, so I usually check medical and basic needs shopping first, because I am not interested in an area where just living will be a struggle. I agree with Mom! You don't think about medical until you need it. I will tell you the truth, after the first day of looking at the house, I came back to my home and at 5 am the next morning, an ambulance stopped in front of my neighbor's house. They are perhaps 30 or 35 years old. Their dad was visiting, He was 54 and was in distress. Yikes! If that was me, out in the middle of nowhere, what would I have done? That right there made me sit up and take notice.

Anyway, I have gone on and on! Thanks so much for stopping by @zirochka! I hope you are doing better and Nick is too! ❤️

!LUV

In fact, it's very difficult to find a balance between the advantages of a big city and the need for peace and personal space. Even if it succeeds, who can guarantee what it will be like in 20 years? 😒

Yesterday I watched how my hometown changed and keep changing. The smallest pieces of land are built up with high-rise buildings. I did not see new hospitals, or parks, or schools, theaters, only flat-blocks, like beehives, right above the roads, even without parking lots. It's too sad to imagine how it will look like in next 5 years.

But I wish you with all.my heart to find this balance, and your own perfect place for new home, because I know how important it can be.

Hugs and !luv

That makes me sad, reading that. I know it's true. Nothing is guaranteed in life. I will find the balance, thankfully, I am in no rush.

I wish you to find the balance, when the time is right. XO

Live to you.

There are surely some attractive aspects about that place, and sorry to hear about others like the floor nightmare and far from hospitals...
I think you did the right thing, and best of luck for any future hunts! :)

And here's my marketfriday post link, as you required. Thank you for hosting!

You are such a great sport! I require it so a lot of the new people have more of a chance of more interaction on their posts. Many come and go down the list to check out the posts.

The floors are a nightmare! Most of the downstairs is parquet flooring, which would be gorgeous if it ran from room to room in one smooth flow... But noooo! :) Each room has an individual pattern, very artistic, but a nightmare! Far from hospitals is never good. And yes! Moving anywhere at this point would be good. It has been years!!! At least three of them and I need another adventure. :)

Thank you @dswigle you are so sweet.💕💕

That is why they were selling it below market!
The owners didn't want to have done themselves.
There will be other properties, @dswigle.
It was not meant to be.
https://ecency.com/hive-124452/@silversaver888/market-friday-price-increases-in

Actually, they probably don't. Their father passed away 60 days ago and the estate was just released. It was never appraised, one of the reasons it was put up for less than the value. It was originally going to be sold to one of the local people, but, he would need to see his farm to buy it. That could take a while so they said no. They want to Then it was put up on the block for the same offering price. That was nice, they didn't have to.

It is totally worth everything that they are asking, just not to me.

I live in a house I had built. It is nice and has enough room and life is good here, but, the encroachment of cityscape is getting closer and closer. They are building more. I don't want my peace to be disrupted by the disruption that happens in downtown Washington, DC.

I guess what I really mean is I want to walk into a house and know it is mine. I knew this would need work to be mine, so I gave up the offer. No regrets.

There is always another, for sure.

Thank you for dropping the link and reading the post!

oh what a pity!!!!! but you certainly did the right thing. you cannot buy such large purchases without having them examined by specialists. after all, the subsequent contribution to this house is a very significant amount. and the fact that, for example, the hospital is far away is not good. you're right - anything can happen, and the presence of a hospital nearby sometimes saves a person's life. but it was a great house! I have never seen anything like this.
I didn't quite get it: are you suggesting a different topic for the next Market Friday at the end of your post? link to my post: https://ecency.com/hive-196308/@tali72/hooray-hooray-my-new-earrings

It was a pity, yes? It was a grand old place, but it is a hard NO for me without the inspections. There is no other major expense like your house, it is very significant and stays with you forever if you make a mistake.

Isn't that silly, worrying about the hospital? My inlaws are almost 80 and I can see being worried, but, you can need one at any age. I had an unexpected allergic reaction to an antibiotic I was prescribed when visiting my mom. I never take antibiotics, only once when I was 20 and only for five days. I couldn't breathe and was rushed to the hospital where they kept me for three days. That was scary! I had no idea I was allergic to one of the substances. What if I was at that house? It can happen to anyone. I am not allergic to anything that I knew of.

It was a great house! I loved so many things about it! And the view!

I was suggesting it for many new people that like a topic or might have a hard time finding one. You can do that or your regular fun posts! I want to leave room for both. :) But, yes! You are the only one so far that has even seen it or mentioned it. :) Thanks so much! You are the best!❤️

Oh, how good that you got medical help on time 😮 yes, you're right, we don't know everything about our body and at any moment something can suddenly shoot and then we will have to arrive at the hospital as soon as possible. this spring I had a severe pinching of the sciatic nerve: I could neither sit nor lie down nor stand straight. I could only barely walk. I couldn't even get in the car to get to the clinic. but luckily for me it was a 5-minute walk from my house (I certainly walked much longer 😕). therefore, I think that thinking about the hospital is not stupid at all, but on the contrary, it is very prudent. Thank you so much for the compliment, my dear! 🌼🌼🌼 And take care of yourself!!!!

Oh!! That is terrible to happen! I just had a slight pull on the sciatic nerve one day and thought I was crippled. It was momentary and was only seconds, but, it was excruciating! So, I actually can see where that would happen with a pinched nerve!

Poor you! I hope it never happens again!

I hope your day is going well!

You are welcome!!! You have to wonder, right? Who are these people that will take that choice? 🤣

@dswigle,

I think you did the right thing, dear friend. Not completely relevant... but is; we have a cousin that is really good at fixing vehicles. Kinda like a "shade tree mechanic" if you will. He has saved us countless dollars on repairs... but he is not a mechanic shop. Which means what? Right... no warranty. In this same mindset... you already know that famous saying, "You make a house, a home", I am sure. So don't sweat the situation... it just makes us stinky lol. I am a firm believer in the "everything happens for a reason" mindset. Houses are like soul mates or dear friends. They are out there waiting... and I know this happened for a reason. So then!! Hey! Have a great weekend! Enjoy this song... because, as I have read this post, as well as your other posts about this house. This is the tune that was echoing inside the empty shell of my skull...

Anyway... there's #alwaysaflower. They will grow, no matter where you choose to call home! Thank you, as always, for choosing to use my TAG, Love and light my friend!

Absolutely, Wes. @wesphilbin No warranty is something that can bite us all in the behind. I have six brothers (also not relevant) and they have friends, who have friends. Growing up, that is the way business was done when you were young and limited funds. Also never a warranty. But, at the time, it was cheaper and met the need.

Now, a house I will need to own for the rest of my life? Hello, no.

I am not in a rush to leave where I am, so I am sure it will present itself when the time is right. :) Thank you so much and yes! #alwaysaflower sure makes my day!

Thanks for the wine @wesphilbin

Hell to the no-no !... .I would never have foregone the inspection ! I wouldn't even do that on any house in any price range, but for something this large, that would be truly crazy. I have read and heard that some folks were doing that in order to get a house faster before someone else could take it and I truly believe there will some value regrets later for a lot of folks. You get enough of those surprises when it all looks good, who would want to invite more??

I'm sorry it has not turned out like you were hoping. On the surface, it truly looks like a dream home and maybe it is, but the gamble is too large for taking chances. What a let down !

Is there garden type art all over? I notice a little sundial in the flag field and something else on a post beyond.... a bluebird house maybe?

I saw something crazy here. A little "mill house" I use to live in was sold, fixed up and is online with a price of $200,000.00 ! Believe me when I tell you that it is a very small house with all rooms being small except a dining room off the very small kitchen AND... 1 very small bathroom. Now you may wonder if it's in a fancy neighborhood??? Oh no ! Not even close. It is on a busy 4 way stop intersection and the front yard is tiny. Folks that lived around there long after I was gone told me years later that the neighborhood had eventually become very sketchy with wandering addicts and etc. They did work on the inside and outside and it looks nicer than when I lived there, although it wasn't bad back then, but you could tell they painted over the cheap paneling in the 2nd bedroom, so most of it you can guess was just a quickly added facade. I will be curious to see what it ends up going for. Even though I have heard some crazy price stories, that asking price for this tiny house in a questionable neighborhood is absolutely ludicrous.

Exactly! You know I didn't. It is ludicrous that they think it is acceptable, that is for sure! I didn't do that while paying little prices, you think I would do it for this one? Can you believe there are people that bid on that house without it? They forgo all inspections. It is not because they are trying to hurry up and get it all in, it is because it is a quick inheritance deal. I think (or heard) one of the kids got disinherited and they want to seal the deal sooner than later. The poor old guy is barely cold. Yikes.

I would rather not have to be sad or regret anything. While it is sad and a little bit of a letdown, I am truly okay with it. There are a lot of good houses out there and it wasn't sitting well with me being so far out of circulation there. There was no real town, it was over ten miles away and no grocery or markets there, they were in a town 22 miles away. So, I think I may have dodged that bullet. I am a baby and I don't like feeling like that.

Everyone wanted that house, but, truly they were getting emotional about it. I want no regrets and guess what? I am sitting here tonight, not regretting the lack of the house in my repertoire. There will be another. There always is.

That story about the house is crazy!!! I do believe you after what I have heard. That sounds exactly right! Thanks so much for the fun, El! I hope you have a great weekend!

#MarketFriday loves you!

!PIZZA

Mother doesn't live as far as that from the town & markets, but they are not convenient to her location. WHen they moved there, they just learned to stock a big pantry (and deep freeze) and other items and keep lists of things they needed and places they needed to go, to make sure they got everything done while in town. It took a while, but eventually it just became second nature and didn't seem like a chore.

Although I can imagine it being that way of a sorts about fast inheritance, that doesn't sound smart either, I mean, why be in a hurry? Why not give it proper time and get more money? ... well... unless you have something to hide. I would think all that inheritance mess would have to be settled and final before anything major could be done. I am certainly not the expert on that though. Somehow sounds a little fishy, doesn't it?

It was a trust which makes it irrevocable. I am not sure why they wanted to get it settled immediately. There was a week from when ir was offered to the pending offer. It is the price they wanted. Mine was more. I am at peace with withdrawing. Our summer house in Michigan was 25 miles from town. I was okay with it.

I am not a huge fan of it, but it is ok. Im more social than that though. 😀

A trust.... I see. That is what my Mom has for her home and children.

Social ?...That just means you have to throw a lot of parties and let the people come to you ! Pot Luck of course....LOL

A trust is more expensive to set up but has many great features. If you have a trust, it is invisible to the IRS. That is important in many states. They won't even blink your way, as long as the assets are sold at fair market value there will be no reportable gain, loss, or gift tax assessed on the sale. Hello? That is a win!!! There will also be no income tax on any payments paid to the grantor from a sale. Best case scenario! As an aside, you must put your property in a trust before you get ill or need care. Anyone who has had a long-term illness in the family will understand these reasons. The illness can suck the life out of your assets. When you put your property in trust before going into any type of care, it is not considered to be owned by you and is not used to fund your care.

That is why your mom did it. It was a smart move on her part.

That is also why this man did it. It can be sold asap, no waiting on anything.

I of course have never studied all the features of a trust, even though I have heard the word now and then through my life and had a shallow understanding of it. Mom put the house and property in trust for her children when she remarried, so it has been that way a long time now.

We do understand about some of the things that should be in place long before illness, but understandably, it is hard for some elderly to do it as they don't understand and think it is giving their things away where they will have no control. My Grandmother did that. She went along with some things and others she did not.

Illness sucks away many people's assets unfortunately.

Oh, yeah... I love pot luck! :)

I managed to post this week. Travel mixed with a little shopping.

It's too bad that it didn't work out but it's probably for the best. Sounds like there would have been a lot of additional expenses with the driveway and floor and potentially foundation? I would totally want an inspection done as well.

You are absolutely right! If it doesn't happen without you fighting it, it wasn't meant to be. No inspection? That was a hard no for sure. Some things are too much of a challenge!

My MarketFriday PARTY POST https://ecency.com/hive-196308/@itsostylish/party-party-party-on-down

It is a pity, isn't it? I have to believe everything has a reason and for me, the showstopper was not being able to get an inspection in time. A very hard NO for me then. What happens if it has structural issues? Or foundation problems? Anything.

I did go back 4 days before the bids were due to get the whole experience. It was fun and I don't regret it, but, there will be another house. Of that, I am sure.

Thanks for dropping the party here!!! Woot! Woot!

Thanks so much @wesphilbin !

Hello Denise, that piece of property is just gorgeous, great views but I also would never buy a house without a though inspection. To have to dump in $50,000 right off the bat would turn me off unless you could low ball them but doesn't sound like they are in a hurry and will stick to the price.
Living in a more rural area does have its challenges but it also has the space and privacy you can't get closer to the cities. It's amazing how quickly you adapt and I for one love living somewhat off the grid.

There are lots of houses out there, take your time, your forever house is out there somewhere.

Here's my #marketfriday post: https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@farm-mom/when-you-dont-have-the-seedsgo-to-pires

image.png

Hi, @farm-mom ! That is exactly what I did! I was still the highest bid, I am sure as they kept offering me ways to make it work. Thankfully, the house has an offer on it as of this morning, it is pending.

I won't buy a house without an inspection. Seriously! We used to have a summer house up on the Canadian border (on the Great Lakes) and yes! I got used to it and it was fine. One day, my niece broke her arm when she fell out of a tree and I had to drive to the hospital to have it set. Two hours away with a crying child. After that, it didn't seem so bad.

Shopping ahead is what I always did there. It was fine, but, the kids were off school, and hey! It was summer. Now, I have things. Nothing desperately important but less time on my hands. It will work out though. I know it will and I am in no rush. I love my house here and something will present itself. Doesn't it always? :)

Thanks so much for dropping the link!

I believe that you did the right thing. The location is beautiful for sure, however the costs which are part of the package overshadow the pros. It is also not a good idea to live in a place where urgent healthcare needs can't be met as life happens. I hope that you find something that works better for you in the future. All the best =)

Here's the link to my post for this week's #MarketFriday tag : https://hive.blog/hive-196308/@yashny/market-friday-mr-dollar-candies-sweets-and-wafers

Urgent Healthcare is important at any age. I have no idea why 20-year-olds think they don't need it as much as someone who is 35 or 45 or more. It just isn't so.

The location is beautiful, but need to look at the bigger picture also. The market for jobs is much less, another thought and the list goes on. It will happen and I am in no rush and don't have to leave my home here. I like it very much, but, the cityscape is encroaching... so I am looking before it gets too busy.

Thanks for dropping your link!

https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@khaleesii/market-friday-with-party-intentions

Thank you.

Also, the landscape is amazing, I would see myself running around wearing a white dress.

Yes! This is where you drop your link, so thank you! I was just going to leave you a note. :)

Thank you, the landscape is perfectly amazing. But, it has to be more than that in the consideration, unfortunately. But, there will be a house with my name on it!

Thank you again!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Yeah I know that and I hope you find what you are searching for soon, I personally don’t enjoy house hunting at all.

Thank you! I know I will, I am in no rush. You don't enjoy it? I still like it, but, not everything fits what I want. :) It is a give and take.

I don’t like the stress I guess, I usually get lightheaded so it’s a bit complicated and stressful

Well then, that makes perfect sense!

Exactly 😊

These are amazing shots and these places are beautiful, I love them. Pardon me, I couldn't get my eyes off the images 🙈.

Here's my entry

LOL Thanks so much for stopping and dropping your link! It is much appreciated! I think they were probably better last week, but, next week - a whole new place!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Thank you so much @dswigle, you are awesome. Much love from this end😘.

You are welcome, always!

Hello dear friend @dswigle good day
Yes, of course I remember, it was a real pleasure to accompany you to that beautiful property. I am very sorry that it did not go as planned, but as you say, there will be other opportunities, you just have to stay calm and be attentive to another opportunity like this
Beautiful shots, I love the cover image
enjoy the weekend

Thank you @jlufer ! I agree that there will be other opportunities, just timing, and when it is right, it will happen. As it is, I am in no rush, so it will happen in its own time!

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving your words!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Staying nearby amenities is an important factor to me too. So, if it is far away in a small town, and not nearby hospital and clinics, highly likely my parents will not like to stay there too. And you did the right thing on inspecting thoroughly, what needed to be done and costing to weigh the pros and cons. Well, when one door closes, means another door will open. A better one. 😉

Also, if you were here in Kuala Lumpur, oh my, there will be many places to bring you. First, we will feed you all the local food. Then tour the KL Tower and Twin Tower, and many farms to visit too. Probably beach but nahhh, our beaches aren't so crystal clear clean. That - you can bring me to your beach if I am there. Haha. Maybe bring you to eat durian, King of fruits here. Haha. Because they say people either love it or hate it. Some tourists spot here which I myself have never been to. So, two days not enough. You need to extend your stay. 😁

:) Yes! That is exactly what I was hoping for! Local food and a tour of the highlights~

No beach is right. I have a nice beach right here. I like durian! I have had it more than a couple of times. It took a little bit of getting used to the aroma, but it kind of reminds me of Limburger cheese. If you can get past the smell, you will be rewarded with the taste. I know a lot of people don't like it, citing the smell. In Singapore, it used to be banned in public places! I know there are more Asian places like that also.

I don't go to the huge tourist spots either. :) Guilty!

I agree with you there! My parents would not have bought it either! :) No matter how a person fights it, we will all get their age someday, so might as well not box yourself into something you may regret in later years.

It will be fine, and there will be another house, and when I step into it, it will feel 100% mine.

Thanks for stopping b and leaving your words!

House hunting as well as for sport because the place is in the forest, the road is quite far, offers need to find cheap price. Thank you #marketfriday by @dswigle.

Thanks so much for your words @hsidik !!I hope you are having a great day and thank you for dropping your link!

Sama-sama terimakasih.greetings.

I am impressed with the way you did your inspection about that place taking each minor and major pros and cons. The landscape is no doubt really beautiful but there is much more one would need for living. A need of 50k dollar is too much to spend on flooring. In this amount we can buy an average kind of apartment here. Hehe. Besides, being farther from basic needs of life is a clear minus.

You made the right choice, ma'am 😊

It was too much for the floors! Can you imagine? I know you can buy a lot for that kind of money and being far from basic needs didn't seem a big deal, until I thought about it.

Thank you. :) I think I did too.

So, my hidden market wanted to hide, but luckily you reminded me to share it here

Thanks @dswigle

https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@mipiano/little-market-with-local-products-hidden-in-the-mountains

I hope you will find a suitable real estate for you, as indeed if this one was not meant to be your one, it is better to let it go.

Btw, that seagull is posing so nicely to you :)

Those seagulls love to post! They believe they are beautiful! I don't tell them, otherwise, they become too vain! :)

Your hidden market sounds intriguing! Thank you for being a part of the challenge.

I will find something. I don't have to move. I love my house and so I will take my time. The real estate market is going down, so I expect that there will be many more houses on the market at lower prices later this year.

You know #MarketFriday loves you!

Gosh, I have missed doing Market Fridays. Thanks goodness, I could join in the fun this weekend.

Beautiful shots, Ma'am.

Here is my link for the week.

And I hope you get a house of your choice...... Soon.

We missed you too! I am so glad that you were able to push in a post this week!❤️

I will get another, eventually. I am in no rush, and it will happen. This wasn't meant to be. Thank you for dropping the link!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Though I read and commented on your post right after you published it, my Market Friday post was a little late to the party! At last, my post for the week! https://peakd.com/hive-196308/@jayna/market-friday-happy-hour-microbrewery-and-empanadas

No worries, darlin! I'm running late this week! (Again)

Thank you for dropping the link!

#MarketFriday loves you!

It was a beautiful and interesting house, for sure, but I think you'd miss the beach. 💛

Here is the link for my #marketfriday post:

I don't have to miss the beach, Julia! I own the Shore House already and the house I live in now is in the Washington, DC metro area. That is the one I will be moving from. I love the beach, so it will stay in the family where it has been since we could afford it.

One will show up when I least expect it. :) Doesn't it always? Thank you for dropping your link on #MarketFriday!

House hunting as well as for sport because the place is in the forest. The road is quite far, offers need to find as cheap price. Thank you.

I suppose it could be a sport, but not mine. :) The road is quite far because the house is on top of a mountain.

Thanks for stopping by!

Oh my yes, you did the right thing, @dswigle! I would never buy a property without an inspection. But more importantly, it really sounds amazing and yet it does not seem like you are madly in love with it. There are too many issues and concerns.

To me it sounds like it was a great exercise in identifying what you really want, and now you will know when you see it! And I think you will know you’re really in love with a place. Buying a home I guess is a little like getting married!

What a fun journey. And like you said, if you wait a few months the selection wii be even better Good luck, my dear!!

Thanks, @jayna! I would never buy a property without an inspection either, so I think that they were crazy for thinking I was being so insistent. Even the realtor, who is no longer my realtor, thought my asking to have an inspection went against my bid. He doesn't need to be representing me, for sure.

I loved it, until. It was unconditional love the first time I went. Then, I began to think- Hey! I am not marrying it, I just want to live and love it, but, I don't want it owning me. LOL This one would be a terrible husband wanting all the attention! :) Then the reality of it hit me.

It was a great exercise and I am glad I went and went back more times. It was a three-hour trip for me, one way, but, I am glad I did it - for four days last week, back and forth. :)

Thanks so much for taking the time to stop in!! It was really nice seeing you! ❤️

You certainly did you due diligence in checking it out. I bet it would have been easy to throw caution to the wind (at least for some people), over that first starry-eyed look. But going back several times and really taking a hard look at all the pros and cons was so smart! It is no fun to commit to something marvelous that ends up not being marvelous in reality!

It's too big of a commitment to not be serious. Sure, it might have even been fine, but i don't need to live with problems walking in. I want it to be a good experience. Its a huge step in faith to close your eyes and hope.

Also, incredibly stupid. Oops. Sorry. But, it is.

There will always be another.

Thanks, @jayna!

The more I read, the more I'd say no to the house/estate. It looks great in photo but when you started enumerating the cons, I would do the same thing too and say no.

Here is my entry for this week: https://hive.blog/hive-196308/@leeart/lwavoyan

I have been posting about our Sunday market and I think that is the best part to know more about different cultures. I'm not sure about architecture but there are still remnants of American occupation that one can see in the city.

I always love to visit your posts and get your take on things! The cultural connection is always interesting.

I did say no! Thank you for taking the time to read it! I just visited your post - and thank you for dropping the link!

#MarketFriday loves you!

It's what I like about reading other posts as well - finding the connection :)

Thanks a lot too for always taking time to read our posts :)

It is always a pleasure!

Thank you for reading my post and dropping your link! I hope all is well in your world!

#MarketFriday loves you!

Thank you for such an entertaining challenge.

"... so I could show off my American-ness to all... Perhaps when we do something good again. We are in a bit of a slump right now..."

Hello sweet Denise, i just found out you! Well you shouldn't feel uncomfortable for anything at all! Its different the American people and the American state! The politicians who govern you now, may not be the best you could have, but the ideas and values of American society do not change. They have inspired and still inspire many other peoples! Friendly and with love all the above!

Thank you. If I was an outsider looking in, I probably wouldn't be as generous. I find too many countries are not run in the best interest of the people, sadly.

Totally true, It seems that something is not working properly in the modern democracies we live, in culminating in the previous US elections! Anyway, let's hope all these economic changes, that it will be the trigger for change
