Thank God It's Friday, Market Hivers!
Everyone is itching to go about their weekend plans today. The streets are busy. The employees are halfway through their work duties and are too excited to have a weekend getaway. The students are also working on their laundry very fast so they can come home early.
While I passed by the busy street on my way home from the university, my attention was easily caught by the many stores and stalls that seemed to sprout near the university's premises. Perhaps, a lot of business-minded people took advantage of the resumption of limited face-to-face classes. True enough, no matter how evident a crisis is, snacks and drinks are still sold out in the market.
A few steps from the university's gate is a stall that mainly sells fried chicken. It's a basic staple nowadays. Thus fried chicken is always a blockbuster. Many find it convenient to just have chicken for lunch as it is the nearest store available. People like me who don't like to walk a long distance and who hates the heat of the sun preferred to buy fried chicken on that stall.
Syoti-Pie Bakery
Next in line, just behind the fried chicken stall is a local bakery. It's the second branch of a certain bakery. They sell bread and pastries of different varieties. All are affordable based on a student's budget. Every time I pass by the bakery, there's always plenty of supplies of bread. Maybe they always restock because it's the only bakery available nearby. It's very convenient for students and employees to stop by and grab some of their goodies.
Gabby's Wings and Snack Bar
Adjacent to the bakery is a canteen-like place where there are different food stalls taken care of by different owners and vendors. On the left side is a stall of a local store that sells tasty chicken wings. It's my personal favourite and I'm one of the many people who rejoiced at the sight of the stall.
Next to the Wing Bar stall, is another stall that sells a different variety of affordable foods for lunch. Some are already packed in plastic. They also have plenty of breakfast foods to choose from.
Fruit Stall
On the other side, is a stall displayed with mangoes and watery rose apples. They also sell fresh buko and orange juice. I drool over at the sight of the mangoes. They are teasing me.
Next to the fruit stall is the street food stall where fries, tempura, kikiam, and kwek-kwek are sold. They also sell fruit juice.
A few steps away from the gate is another food stall that sells street food and milkshakes. We frequently buy milkshakes here after lunch. It's affordable and tasty. Perfect for employees who are on a tight budget too.
Across this stall is a sari-sari store which sells packs of chips and other necessities. I believe it has always had high sales as it is just near the university.
Those are the variety of stores and stalls available near the university's gate friends. It's comfortable on the student's part as there is no need for them to go to the central part of the town.
If I were a student, I wouldn't pass by on this street as I would be tempted to buy even when I'm not hungry. I'm up for saving and as a student, there would be a lot of expenses that I need to prioritize other than eating. Anyhow, the budgeting and the discipline lie in the student's hands. One had to be wise and smart in handling finances to get through University life.

Me too sis, I will not pass by when I don't have money. I will avoid that street to lessen accidental spending hahaha. I'm glad it has lots of foods to offer to passerby
Hahaha. But if we have money it's okay to pinch a little.
It's a good thing that you have this kind of stalls outside your university. Very convenient and you can easy to buy it when you are hungry. Ofcourse, a little discipline to budget yourself as a student is a must.
