Some things in North Carolina are slow to change. Uncle Harry's is certainly proof of that. Notice the old timey pull chain lights. If it aint broke, why change it!

I went up to Houghton Lake and stopped by Spicer's. They had a nice selection of pontoons. This is what 53 grand gets you.
Now here is a nice little Scarab that will be close to 30 thou. Honestly it was a bit on the spartan side as far as comfort. I suppose it is mainly geared towards fishing.
Now if you want to step up a notch in comfort and style, this is a fine Bennington for only 66 grand, but remember that is the sale price! :)
This here vintage table is the only thing I bought while I was up there. You can see it was really cramping our necessary load of snacks. Oh how we suffer for our art!!!

You certainly have a loaded post here. Taking a page out of my book, I see. They certainly were pretty bare bones for the price. I guess it has been a long time since I have looked at boats. The last one was a pontoon party boat, but, in the end it was cheaper to rent it if you didn't use it all the time.
Uncle Harry is my kind of man. Why change if you are comfortable. Is that lap siding on the walls? I have that out at the Shore House in the 2 sleeping porches. I love it and it is part of the charm from yesteryear. I bet I would love Harry's house. And yes, that part of North Carolina certainly will keep you on an incline.
