Market Friday
A post for Market Friday hosted by @dswigle, if you haven't followed her yet you should she is one of the kindest and most supportive people here on Steemit, a comment from her is like a ray of sunshine on your page.
This is the one tag and daily challenge that I always make a point of joining, and also look through the posts of others that join the challenge and seeing markets from all around the world.
For this weeks post, I am going to share a few signs I saw on a walk down Acushnet Ave here in New Bedford, Now signs may be stretching the rules for Market Friday, but i have always been one to stretch the rules and have done similar posts of signs in NYC and Milford in the past and got away with it so here I go :)
This first sign is the one that gave me the idea for this post, my grandson Zach has a think for machines in general and Vacuums in particular, whenever we visit a store that has them he wants to check them out and will always tell me the details of various vacuum cleaners he thinks are good, and I know at one stage he planned to grow up and work in this store Handy Andys
So I wandered along looking for signs and this one gave me a chuckle with the name

Now its been a while since I have had waffles, but seeing this sign did make me want to try them again soon, in fact yesterday morning I could have as we had breakfast our after a morning walk but i completely forgot to check if they had waffle son the menu.

Now this last sign looks aged and weathered but for me that adds to the charm of it and hence this shot

BEER.Mmmm waffles. We have them probably once a month in our house. My wife has a recipe that she got from her grandma I think. They always turn out really good! Nice shots, it looks like you have some pretty cool places in your new home!
It is an interesting area we live so much to see with some diversity in shopping areas, and many nice trails to walk, we are so enjoying it here

Did you know that we say "Handy" to our smartphones?
Very nice signs, JJ, I can't even tell when I have noticed a shop sign last time, unless I have searched for a shop.

Germany and Austria, we all say Handy to that handy thing 😁

Well its good to stay away from towns if you can these days, I only go for walk when I see areas with hardly anyone out on the streets

Since most people stay in Austria and don't make holidays abroad they are everywhere - even at places where I usually never meet anybody I meet them sometimes - I wished this virus would disappear that I have my places for me alone again 🤣

I don't know why, but reading the signs just cracked me up, and I am laughing so hard right now, my tummy is starting to ache 🤣😂🤣

You know how I love signage! It's a sign of the times! I love the different signs along with their stories!
You have come up with some real gems!! I like the vacuum cleaner story! What an unusual thing for a young guy to love, but, it is probably the curiosity of how it works that got his interest in the first place.
Thank you for always joining in on #MarketFriday and showing it off in unique and fun ways!It really surprised me, but, also delights me to know how much effort people put into making their post. The challenge started and pointed out our differences in the beginning, but, then, it really started showing how many things our cultures share. Zach really loves anything mechanical, that's why he loves vacuuming, doing lawns using the blower etc etc, he has really grown up in many ways, and craves to be what he feels is normal, but I keep telling him he is normal and very special
