La caries dental es la enfermedad mas común en los niños puesto que tiene una estrecha relación con los hábitos alimenticios y de higiene, los niños al ser pequeños no conocen la manera adecuada de técnica de cepillado a sus dientes, sin embargo desde edades tempranas debe ser llevado al especialista, ya que que las es una enfermedad dinámica donde se relacionan los factores de alimentación ricos en azúcares como los carbohidratos, estos se dismineralizan y destruyen la estructura del diente, hoy te hablaré de las caries dental únicamente en los niños, cuando se ha tenido caries dental sólo se busca detener la enfermedad para que esta no progrese.

La caries dental se producen en los niños cuando la abundante presencia de bacterias en la microbiota bucal no son removidas, estas van a desmineralizan el esmalte del diente rompiéndose, hasta que penetra la dentina, cuando sólo penetra el esmalte es la un estadio inicial de caries, cuando esta progresa mucho más llega a la dentina, sino la tratamos alcanza la pulpa del diente y puede comprometer la vitalidad de la pieza dentaria, así se transforma en una pulpitis reversible o irreversible, esas cavidades extensas acaban rápidamente con lo dientes, los dientes primarios son de gran importancia.

Los carbohidratos se transforman en bacterias cuando estos se fermenta en la cavidad bucal, se colocan totalmente ácidos y estos penetra en los dientes, cuando se tiene una dieta alta en azúcares existen más posibilidades de sufrir de caries dental, no obstante existen alimentos que se transforman en azúcares, por lo que los niños deben cuidar lo que consumen y muy importante cepillarse después de cada comida, para que esos ácidos no causen las caries.

Las consecuencias que tienen los niños al sufrir de caries es que toda la cavidad bucal se contaminan de bacterias y estas pueden migrar a otras partes que la boca es el primer punto de entrada a otros organismos, las caries producen focos infecciosos leves y moderados, además el paciente presentará dolor que puede perdurar en el tiempo ocasionando que el paciente no pueda comer adecuadamente, cabe destacar que en niños de menos de tres años ya pasa hacer caries de la primera infancia.

Las caries afectan gravemente la salud física de los niños, puesto que es el primer problema de salud pública que los afecta grandemente, la manera mas certera para disminuir las caries son los correctos hábitos de higiene bucal acompañado de la mejor técnica del cepillado en todas las caras de los dientes, importante hacer un control en la dieta de los niños, puesto que no se debe dar dulces durante el día, ya que existe así mayor actividad de las caries, importante la caries dental no se transmite es una enfermedad que depende únicamente del hábito alimenticio y de la higiene bucal.
