Cuando un diente de ve afectado por diversas causas cómo caries muy profundas, traumatismos o diversas fracturas se debe optar por un tratamiento que garantice para el una excelente terapéutica, y se pueda restituir una excelente función, no sólo estético debemos tener en cuenta que las incrustaciones sólo va depender de las indicaciones que pueda considerar el odontólogo según el paciente, así como también hay casos en los que se contraindican.
When a tooth is affected by various causes such as very deep caries, trauma or various fractures, it is necessary to opt for a treatment that guarantees excellent therapy for the tooth, and an excellent function can be restored, not only aesthetically, we must bear in mind that inlays will only depend on the indications that the dentist may consider according to the patient, as well as there are cases in which they are contraindicated.
Las restauraciones indirectas inscrustaciones, serán recubrimientos totalmente parciales rígidos que tendrán usos en caries muy leves, así como también fracturas moderadas, debemos tener en cuenta que el daño en la estructura dentaria no debe ser tan importante para que necesitemos la corona, así devolvemos excelente protección a la estructura dentaria, correcta morfología, devolver funcion y así garantizar estética.
Indirect restorations, inlays and onlays, will be totally rigid partial coverings that will be used in very slight caries, as well as in moderate fractures. We must take into account that the damage to the tooth structure should not be so important that we need the crown, so that we return excellent protection to the tooth structure, correct morphology, return function and thus guarantee aesthetics.
¿En que caso estarán indicadas las inscrustaciones indirectas?

En caso de espacios entre dientes que sean muy grandes, cuando os espacios interproximales son bastantes profundos, cuando los dientes se encuentren debilitados, también cuando exista dificultad para reparar la restauración, también donde exista buena oclusión, por último en lesiones medianas de caries de un tamaño considerable.
In case of very large gaps between teeth, when the interproximal spaces are quite deep, when the teeth are weakened, also when there is difficulty in repairing the restoration, also where there is good occlusion, finally in medium-sized caries lesions of considerable size.
Se contraindican en esos casos que las lesiones por caries sean muy pequeñas, así como también de gran tamaño extenso, así como también bruxismo, defiencia en la higiene bucal y dieta, en esos casos donde también se dificulte el aislamiento absoluto y por último cuando se encuentre desfavorable la oclusión dental.
Contraindications include very small caries lesions as well as extensive caries lesions, as well as bruxism, poor oral hygiene and diet, in those cases where absolute isolation is difficult and finally when the dental occlusion is unfavourable.
Existen tres tipos de incrustaciones:

Inlay
Es una restauración que de encuentra de manera intracoronaria, que no abarcará más del 1/3 de la corona de la distancia intercuspidea, debemos tener el conocimiento que el diente que va recibir el tallado del Inlay, se va realizar conformando las paredes divergentes hacia la superficie oclusal, también biselando los bordes.
It is a restoration that is intracoronary, which will not cover more than 1/3 of the crown of the intercuspid distance. We must be aware that the tooth that is to receive the Inlay grinding will be made by shaping the divergent walls towards the occlusal surface, also bevelling the edges.
Este tendrá mejores propiedades como mayor compresión y resistencia, así como buena estabilidad dimensional, así como también se va conservar el color a medida que pase el tiempo, se tendrá una mayor resistencia de las microfiltraciones.
It will have better properties such as higher compression and strength, as well as good dimensional stability, as well as colour fastness over time, and better resistance to micro-leakage.
Onlay:
Onlay.
También va hacer una restauración del tipo intracoronaria, con la diferencia que va abarcar más de una cúspide, pero no tendrá un recubrimiento cúspideo completo, tiene como característica que va proteger a los dientes de altas tensiones más en las paredes, que en los ángulos de la cavidad.
It will also make a restoration of the intracoronary type, with the difference that it will cover more than one cusp, but it will not have a complete cuspid covering, it has the characteristic that it will protect the teeth from high stresses more in the walls, than in the angles of the cavity.
Overlay:
Overlay.
Será una restauración extracoronaria que estará involucrada en dos o más cúspides, ya que presenta destrucción dental. En este caso la técnica es más sencilla que las anteriores, ya que no hay necesidad de taller, ni reducir demasiado el téjido dentario, sólo será imprescindible crear paredes cuspideas, también márgenes 1 a 2mm supragingivales para un correcto control de la técnica adhesiva.
It will be an extracoronary restoration that will be involved in two or more cusps, as it presents dental destruction. In this case the technique is simpler than the previous ones, as there is no need to workshop or reduce the dental tissue too much, it will only be essential to create cuspid walls, as well as 1 to 2mm supragingival margins for a correct control of the adhesive technique.
